Main Lodge is the living area, bedrooms are 3 separate chalets. Our Lodge is a haven to unwind, close to family-friendly activities. The game park is ideal for tranquil self-guided walks and excellent birding opportunities on the numerous walking trails. Enjoy a cocktail under the trees at the firepit and star gaze while taking in the bush view to end your day. The space Khangela Lodge is in the heart of Southern Maputoland, just 16kms from Hluhluwe town on the road to Sodwana. It is part of a 170 hectare private game reserve that boasts its own Sandforest, Thornveld, Wetlands and Grasslands, with an abundance of game and birdlife. The game park is ideal for tranquil self-guided walks and excellent birding opportunities on the numerous walking trails available. Walking through the park with the abundant wildlife is a rare treat and you are sure to encounter many species of game which include Giraffe, Wildebeest, Nyala, Warthog, Impala, Zebra, Duiker, Kudu, Monkeys and many more eye catching creatures. The Main Lodge houses the living area and the bedrooms are 3 SEPERATE, private, air conditioned bedroom chalets each with their own wooden decks nestled in the bush, overlooking the tranquil water hole. Each chalet has a private bathroom with a bath and indoor/outdoor shower, a king size bed and a wonderful view of the bush. The chalets give a feeling of being at one with nature with sliding doors and windows encircling the bedroom area, enabling you to relax in bed while the game comes to you. Khangela Lodge is self-catering and is serviced daily. The main living area is SEPERATE to the chalets and has a spacious inside/outside bar, a comfortable lounge with flat screen TV and full DSTV bouquet. The dining area has a beautiful 12 seater dining table and there is a fully equipped kitchen. The lounge opens out onto ample decking with a sparkling pool and a fire pit beneath the trees encouraging you to relax at the end of a perfect day and star gaze. Guest access Check-in is between 14:00 -17:00 and check out is strictly 10:00. Please respect that this is our holiday home and very personal to us. We hope you will treat it as you would your own home. Kindly do not enter the Store Room marked Private. We charge a refundable breakage and noise nuisance deposit of R2500 which is billed privately and independent of your Airbnb payment. Other things to note Being situated in rural Hluhluwe, we do have more frequent water and electricity issues than urban areas ( we are in South Africa after all,haha ). Unfortunately this is out of our control and we have made as much provision as possible to make your stay comfortable should you experience loadshedding whilst staying at Khangela.
