A getaway in the woods, with a short distance from the city. No road access, but approx. 40 min. on foot or by ski from the gate. Bommen can be reached by car or public transport. Enjoy a stay with recreation and rest, away from a busy everyday life. A simple cabin with wood burning stove, outdoor toilet and drinking water in a jug, with wifi and solar power. The area offers beautiful pine forests and miles of hiking trails. Feel the pulse rise in the uphill slopes - or slow down and just let your thoughts wander with the fire in the fireplace on the terrace. The space The cabin is in a newer condition, with electricity from solar cells and without running water. 10 liters of clean drinking water in water cans are provided. Drinking water beyond this must be brought. Water for washing dishes, hygiene, etc. can be collected in nearby streams. There is lighting in all rooms, with rechargeable lamps in the bedrooms and in the bathroom. In the living room/kitchen there are lamps on electricity, in addition to candles for atmosphere. Heating by using a wood stove. From April and until August, refrigerators are available, but in late autumn and in the winter season, food storage takes place in an ice-free thermobox outside in the shed. The cabin sleeps up to 4 guests. We recommend 2-4 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. The loft has 2 bedrooms, with a 90 cm mattress in one room and a 120 cm mattress in the other. The bedroom downstairs has a 140 cm bed. Duvets and pillows are ready on all beds. PLEASE NOTE! Sheets and bed linen, i.e. duvet covers and pillow cases must be brought. The kitchen has a gas stove (only a stovetop, not an oven) with 4 burners. Woodshed and outdoor toilet (with toilet paper) are opposite the cabin. The outdoor toilet is fully usable, but in old condition. It will be upgraded in the summer of 2025. The bathroom has a mirror and a washbasin. Towels must be brought. The cabin has Wi-Fi, with its own router to log in. Fire pan is included, but remember that campfires are not allowed between 15 April and 15 September. Public transport: There is no road to the cabin, but from Drammen city center you can get up in the woods in a relatively short time. From the parking lot/nearest bus stop it is a walk of about 40 minutes on a hilly gravel road to the cabin. The gravel road (closed with a barrier) is followed in the direction of Hellashytta. There are some shortcuts on trails for those who feel the urge to explore. In winter the road is prepared with ski slopes (light slope), but you can also walk outside the tracks on foot. Upon booking, you will receive further instructions on the last approx. 200 meters up to the cabin. ________________ Scenic surroundings make it easy to find tranquility, and this is a place where you can enjoy doing nothing, far away from the stress. For the active, Strømsåsen has endless opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, swimming, mushroom and berry picking. There are many hiking trails and paths in varied terrain, both short and long hikes to explore. On Ut's website there are many suggestions for trips in the area with the keyword “Strømsåsen” (Drammen). In winter, skiing is the main activity and there are miles of trails, including a floodlit trail, just a stone's throw from the cabin. Do you want to go out on foot also in winter? Then you should test the cross-country trails, which are prepared trails in the winter terrain. Guest access Our guests have access to the entire place, in addition to the outhouse with an outdoor toilet, and a woodshed. Other things to note Winter: Own ski equipment must be brought. There is a large network of trails that are frequently prepared. The snow season is usually from December to April. See the ski track online for up-to-date information on snow conditions and prepared slopes. Shop: The nearest shop is Kiwi Austadveien, right at Skogerveien Bus Stop. There is electricity in the form of 12V solar cell systems in the cabin, with the possibility of charging devices at 230V via inverter (see instructions for use for electricity). With high consumption and little sun, the battery may run out of power. Use as little power as possible so that the guests after you also have power. The stove uses gas. Read the instructions for use before using the equipment. There is an extra container with gas in the outhouse if needed. 10 liters of water are filled in jugs that are ready in the cabin. Only cold water in the cabin that is heated to the desired temperature in the boiler on the wood stove or gas stove. There is a wood-burning stove in the main room of the cabin, as well as a fire pit outside. Wood is retrieved from the woodshed. The fire pan is removed when there is a fire ban in the area (April 15 - September 15). Mobile coverage on site may vary, but you should not walk many steps away from the cabin before it is completely ok 4G and 5G coverage.
