Outside is a paradise for kids with a swing, slide & treehouse. For an authentic South African experience enjoy the braai and fire pit facilities. Almost entirely solar-powered, the home offers a convenient eco friendly stay. The space "Welcome to our spacious and family-friendly retreat, nestled on an active farm where the charm of countryside living meets modern comfort. You’ll be warmly greeted by our two delightful furry friends, Roxy and Dora, who are always excited to welcome guests. Guests can also enjoy watching our friendly farm animals, including goats and chickens, as they roam the property. While the animals aren’t accustomed to physical interaction, their presence creates a unique and authentic farm experience. The home features two cozy bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a fully equipped modern kitchen, perfect for preparing meals with ease. The open-plan layout includes a large dining area and an expansive living room, providing plenty of space to relax, unwind, and create cherished memories with loved ones. Step outside to a beautiful garden, complete with a dedicated children’s play area featuring a swing, slide, and space for little ones to explore and enjoy. Surrounded by the peaceful sights and sounds of farm life, this retreat offers the perfect blend of nature and comfort for families looking to reconnect and unwind." Guest access Main House. Guests have full access to the main house, apart from two storage rooms that have been clearly marked, and the closed verandah that houses the solar system equipment. Solar System Equipment. Guests are not allowed to interfere with the solar system equipment! Any interference will incur a heavy fine. Staff Quarters. The staff quarters where Raj lives are also not open to guests. Animals. Guests can ask our staff to view and learn more about the animals on the farm, but are not allowed to interfere with them physically or any farm work. The animals are not accustomed to physical touch and must be viewed with caution especially with children. Only go to view the animals with a staff member around. We will not be liable for any accidents or otherwise as a result of interaction with the farm animals. Play ground. Guests have access to the garden and playground, however, guests are responsible for their safety and that of their children while using the equipment on the grounds. Small children should not be left alone, in the tree house without adult supervision. Kitchen Garden. We have a small kitchen garden with some vegetables. Guests can inquire if the vegetables available are ready for use, however, only staff members are allowed to do any harvesting. Farm. We have a commercial farm in the back where we plant different crops. Guests who are interested can ask ahead of time for a walk tour but it is highly dependent on whether or not we have some farm work being done. Other things to note Keys. Lost keys will incur a replacement fine of R1000. Cleaning. Daily, Weekly and Bi-weekly cleaning is available at an extra cost of R250. For long-term stays of longer than 6nights, one weekly cleaning is mandatory. Electricity. As we have gone green and use mostly solar power, here are some tips for the house. 1. To save on power, use the electric kettle during the day and the gas kettle at night. 2. Switch off all lights and electric appliances when not in use, especially during the day. Water. Our tap water is from our borehole and is safe to drink. You may boil it or buy bottled water according to your preference.
