Bair’s Cabin

A short walk from Babb Creek and Stony Fork, Bair’s Cabin offers a place to relax with a book or morning coffee on the porch swing, take a nap in a hammock, tell stories & eat s’mores around the fire pit, or rest after a day of hunting, fishing or enjoying other adventures along the Pine Creek Valley. Dog- friendly; no fenced area. Owners often stay in tiny home situated in separate area on the property. Rental property owned by MAG Rentals LLC The space Upon arrival at Bair’s Cabin you are immediately welcomed by the delightful front porch. Added in 2023, the structure was built with posts milled from pine trees cut from the property! You’ll enter the cabin from the front porch through the smart lock on the double-doors into the cozy living room. The décor includes a few of Gary’s favorite items – a bear harvested by his dad on a father/son Maine hunting trip, deer skull mount from a successful hunt at nearby Tioga State Game Lands No. 268, trappings from our home in Schuylkill County, and a two-man saw that was owned by Gary’s dad. The kitchen & dining area is to the left of the living room. The kitchen was newly installed in 2021 with granite countertops and is supplied with cooking essentials for your stay. The full bathroom with washer & dryer and the stairway to the 2nd floor bedrooms are at rear of the cabin to the right of the living room. 2 BEDROOMS (2nd floor) Each bedroom is equipped with a mini-split for heating & cooling and a ceiling fan. They are approximately 195 sq ft in size. Bedroom 1 (window overlooks the backyard) - King Sleep Number bed for personalized comfort. Bedroom 2 (window overlooks the front porch) - Queen bed and Full bed. BATHROOM (main floor) 1 full bathroom with walk-in shower stall, toilet, single sink, and washer & dryer. A shower seat is available (250 lb weight limit). Cleaning supplies are stored in the bathroom if needed during your stay. KITCHEN/DINING ROOM (main floor) The kitchen is stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, and coffee mugs; pots, pans, baking sheets, utensils, knives and cutting boards for your cooking needs. A table with seating for 6 is in the dining area. The locked utility closet is home to the hot water heater. Tray tables and a wooden high chair are stored in the living room. Appliances include: - Full size refrigerator with lower drawer freezer - Gas stove - Microwave - Drip coffee maker - Single-use Keurig - Crockpots (1 large oval, 1 round, and 2 mini) - Toaster - Electric griddle - Air fryer LIVING ROOM (main floor) The living room includes a couch, 2 recliners and a chair for seating. A TV is situated in the front corner with ROKU and DVD Player. Use your own logins to entertainment apps on the ROKU. An assortment of DVDs are available or bring your own. Game cabinet: - Cards - Skip-Bo - Phase 10 - Left Right Center - Tic Tac Toe - 4 in a Row - Clue - Trivial Pursuit - Monopoly - Candyland - Chutes & Ladders - Memory - Puzzles - Books The main floor heating & cooling is supplied by a mini-split and ceiling fans in the living room and kitchen. *The wood-burning stove is for display only* OUTDOOR AMENITIES A large fire pit is perfect to gather and roast marshmallows, make mountain pies, and enjoy each other’s company. Cook a meal on the gas grill with picnic table seating. OUTDOOR LIGHTING There is a floodlight on the utility pole in the backyard with a timer switch (choose your timer length wisely or suffer the consequences in the rear (King) bedroom) String lights provide a festive ambience by the fire pit and around the hammock hideaway. OUTHOUSE We couldn’t add a 2nd bathroom inside so we added one outside! It adds rustic charm with the modern convenience of a flushable toilet. OUTDOOR SINK The outdoor sink does not have hot water, but proves to be useful with the outhouse, cleanup from outdoor meals or for fish cleaning after a successful day on the water. SHED The storage shed in the backyard contains additional resources for your stay. - 3 Bicycles - 2 Kids’ bicycles - 6+ Bag chairs - 4 Hammocks - Pie irons - Cornhole - Fire starters (homemade with wax, sawdust & pinecones) **Use bicycles at your own risk** PLAYGROUND The backyard playground includes 3 swings, rope climb, and spring horse to entertain the kids. **Use playground at your own risk** HAMMOCK HIDEAWAY Hang hammocks from the eyebolts in the trees in the hammock hideaway area by the playground. RESTRICTED OUTDOOR AREA The shared driveway leads to the owner’s retreat beyond the Hammock Hideaway. Known as Yogi’s Bairadise, this is a restricted area with trail cameras set up to view wildlife visitors and the occasional trespasser. Guest access Guests have exclusive access to the cabin aside from the locked storage spaces. The shared driveway leads to the owner's retreat (a restricted area behind the neighboring cabin) but otherwise the backyard is available for frolicking and enjoyment. Other things to note We have 2 folding cots available - perfect for kids if they don't want to share a bed. Please indicate with your booking if you need one or both cots set up. The cot mattress is smaller than the size of a twin bed. Bring your own firewood for the fire pit or firewood is available to purchase on site ($25 for approximately 35 pieces). Firewood is also available at nearby campgrounds and other roadside locations. EV chargee free to charge. 32 amp charger. Tesla will have to use an adapter.
