The space Welcome to The Burrows Cei Bach – A Luxurious, Accessible Family Retreat in the Heart of Anglesey The Burrows Cei Bach, meaning "small field," is a thoughtfully designed, fully accessible bungalow that offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and practicality. Whether you’re a family with specific needs, carers, or simply seeking a peaceful getaway, our property has been tailored to meet a variety of requirements while ensuring a stylish and enjoyable stay. Located centrally in Anglesey, we are easily accessible from the A5, making it a great base to explore the island or just relax in a safe, private retreat. As a family who has experienced the challenges of finding suitable accommodations after a catastrophic brain injury, we’ve made it our mission to create a space where everyone, regardless of ability, can feel at home. From fully accessible rooms to modern amenities, every detail at The Burrows Cei Bach has been carefully considered to meet the needs of complex families. Each bedroom has a TV and internet access as we know its important for parents and carers to also have their own space to relax. Room-by-Room Features: Lounge & Dining Area The open-plan lounge area offers ample space for relaxation, with a large corner leather sofa featuring two reclining seats. The room is designed to be spacious enough for wheelchairs to turn around comfortably. There’s a dining table that accommodates up to 9 people, with bench seating and room for a wheelchair. The room also features a Smart TV, high-speed broadband, and adjustable lighting to suit all needs. This room also has an electric rise and recline chair Kitchen The kitchen is fully accessible, with an open plan layout connecting it to the lounge and dining area. It includes a side-opening microwave and oven, pull-out wheelchair-friendly work surfaces, and low-level storage. There’s a Breville Hotcup water dispenser alongside a standard kettle. Although there is no washing machine at the property, laundry facilities are just a mile away at Siop Ellis/Post Office. Bedroom 1 – Accessible Room This room has been adapted to support individuals with complex health needs, featuring an H-frame ceiling hoist, a high-low profiling bed with sides, and a second chair that converts into a full-size single bed with a memory foam mattress. The room includes 10 double sockets at varying heights to accommodate all required equipment. It also has ample storage with moveable trolleys and wardrobe space. Direct access to the garden and a ramped deck makes this room especially convenient. The attached wet-room features level access and various assistive features for ease of use. Ensuite Wet-room – Accessible Room Attached to Bedroom 1, the wet-room is fully adapted with a dual-headed shower, a roll-under sink, and a large low level illuminated mirror. There are additional features like a medication sink, drop-down handrails plus wall hung shower seat, and a commode shower chair for greater convenience. The room is designed to provide privacy and ease of access for carers and guests. Bedroom 2 – Double Room This room features a king-size bed and a modern ensuite bathroom. The design is contemporary with ceiling and wall lights, a vanity area, and open-plan clothing storage, making it a comfortable retreat for guests. Ensuite (Double Room) The ensuite for Bedroom 2 is compact but efficient, featuring a sink, toilet, and dual-head shower. Please note that this room is not wheelchair accessible due to the step into the shower. Bedroom 3 – Flexi Room This flexible room is perfect for families with varying needs. It includes both a double and a single electric recliner bed, providing comfort and support for a variety of sleeping preferences. It also has a desk/vanity area with a large mirror, wall lights, and a Smart TV. The room has access to the outdoors via patio doors, leading to a small bench seating area. Bedroom 4 – Twin Room This room offers two single beds with sprung Geltex mattresses for comfort, as well as sockets with USB ports beside each bed. The room also features a seated vanity area, making it a perfect choice for children or friends staying together. Main Bathroom The main bathroom is a modern wet-room with a dual-headed electric shower and level access, making it easy for all guests to use. It features a wall-hung vanity basin and toilet for added style and functionality. It has a sturdy shower seat and grab rails around the toilet, shower and wash basin. Hallway The hallway has been widened to ensure easy movement between rooms and to accommodate wheelchairs or other mobility aids. It features a sensor light that activates as you enter. Garden Area The outside space at The Burrows Cei Bach includes a large, enclosed garden, perfect for guests who require extra space. There’s a tarmac parking area and a large grass area with a covered seating/dining area for up to 9 people. The seating area is accessible via a ramp, and the large U-shaped sofa and rise-and-fall dining table are designed with comfort in mind. The garden is well-lit with string lights around the gazebo and house, creating a warm, inviting atmosphere for evening relaxation. Parking There is plenty of parking space for 5-6 cars, including a wheelchair-accessible vehicle, with space for the ramp on the hard-standing area. The extended parking area ensures that all vehicles have easy access to the property. Location Located centrally on Anglesey and accessible from the A5, The Burrows Cei Bach offers easy access to most of the island’s attractions within a 20-minute drive. For those who require emergency medical attention, the nearest hospital is just 20 minutes away in Bangor. While the property is located on the A5, we’ve installed acoustic glass windows to minimize any noise, and the main outdoor seating area is positioned away from the road. We are always looking to improve and plan to add further adaptations and equipment to the bungalow over the coming years. Guest access Guests have full access to all areas of The Burrows Cei Bach, including: All Bedrooms: You will have access to all four bedrooms, each designed with comfort and accessibility in mind. Living Areas: The open-plan lounge and dining area are yours to enjoy, with plenty of space for relaxation and entertainment. Kitchen: Feel free to use the fully equipped kitchen for cooking and preparing meals, complete with accessible workspaces and modern appliances. Bathrooms: All bathrooms are available for use, including the accessible wet-rooms, with additional features to support guests with specific needs. Garden: The spacious, enclosed garden is yours to explore and enjoy. There’s a covered seating/dining area for up to 9 people, accessible via a ramp, with plenty of space for wheelchairs. Parking: There is ample parking space on the tarmac hard-standing area, with designated spots for wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Other Information: Check-in/Check-out: You will be given access to the property via a keybox. Full instructions will be provided prior to your stay. Other things to note The Burrows Cei Bach is conveniently located on the A5, offering easy access to explore Anglesey and beyond. Its central location makes it an ideal base for visiting key attractions, beaches, and local amenities, with the nearest hospital just 20 minutes away in Bangor. However, please note that the property is situated on a busy road, which can be noisy at times. To mitigate this, we've installed acoustic glass windows throughout the property to minimize road noise. Additionally, the main outdoor seating area is set well away from the road, offering a quieter space for guests to relax. So far, the road noise has not been an issue for any of our guests, as the property’s other features and overall comfort have more than made up for it.
