Built in 1908 and expanded in 1966, this house has been in our family for generations and features carefully selected decor that tells its story – from vintage photos to modern touches. Nestled in a serene village, it’s just steps from Gjógv’s iconic gorge, peaceful hiking trails, and a playful river. A perfect retreat for relaxation and exploration. Book your stay and create lasting memories! The space Ground floor consists of open-spaced kitchen-dining-living room, pantry, two bedrooms and one full bathroom. On the upper floor, you will find two bedrooms, large open space room and a half bathroom. The stairs in the house are steep. Guest access You have access to the ground and upper floor. Other things to note Grocery store: The nearest grocery stores are located in Eiði (~20 minutes drive) or Norðskála (~26 minutes drive). There are no grocery stores in Gjógv. Attractions: Gjógv (meaning gorge) is known for its small town charm and its 200m steep gorge. We recommend going for a walk at all times of the day to experience the village. Hiking: There are multiple good hiking routes in Gjógv and its surroundings. We recommending researching the routes and letting someone know of your hike before you go. Restaurant: Gjáargarður Guesthouse operates seasonally from May to September. Check opening times in advance. Transportation: We recommend that you bring or rent your own car to Gjógv. It gives you the flexibility to explore on your own time. If you choose to use public transport, check ssl .fo for times. Driving to Gjógv: The drive to Gjógv is incredibly scenic, and we are still breathtaken on our drives to Gjógv. In the winter months it can be difficult or impossible to drive. Emergency services are still provided all year.
