The space This environmentally responsible Ecohouse is architect designed for the 21st Century to cater for all age groups including people with impaired mobility. It was built in 2013, is heated with geo-thermal floor heating, powered by hydro electricity, ventilated by air-to-air heat exchanger and designed and built to the highest national standards. Located in Eyrarbakki, the old center of southern Iceland, this is the ideal base for exploring the wonders of the area through day trips from The Blue Lagoon and the Capital Area to Thingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss, Skálholt and many others. All these destinations are within an hour´s drive from Eyrarbakki. For the more adventurous, Landmannalaugar, the mountain Hekla and the glacier Eyjafjallajökull, to name a few, are also within an easy reach. Just walking on the coast by Eyrarbakki and watching the waves break on the shore is also a very special experience. Guest access The house has two double and two single bedrooms; a fully equipped kitchen; dining table for 8 people; sitting area with a TV, DVD,CD, internet access and a small collection of books and music and an exhibition of the work of a local painter; bathroom with a shower for handicapped people and a laundry. On booking you will be sent a Welcome Packet with general information and information about the property along with house rules which include e.g. no smoking.
