Curiosity Cottage

Curiosity Cottage is a charming character property in the very heart of Wendover - within a short walk of a wealth of pubs, restaurants, cafes and local amenities. Wendover is on the Ridgeway making it the perfect resting point for those walking the trail, or the ideal base for anyone wanting to explore the Chiltern Hills. Wendover Station is just two minutes walk from the front door, with access into London Marylebone in under an hour. The space Curiosity Cottage, historically an antiques shop, has been lovingly renovated and has underfloor heating throughout. It is a single level property with its own front door. You will enter into the main living area to find an inviting sofa and armchair in front of a wood burning stove - we provide a starter pack of logs, kindling and firelighters for you to use. The TV is set up with a Virgin Media Stream Box, this has Freeview built in, and also supports the main free-to -air catch up apps including BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, My5 and Youtube. We subscribe to Netflix for our guests to use during their stay, and Stream also supports a wide range of subscription-based streaming apps including Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Paramount+ and Apple TV+. There is also a DVD player, and a selection of DVDs, books and games. Virgin fibre broadband is available for the duration of your stay - with average download speeds of 516Mbps. Alternatively it is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Curiosity Cottage has a well equipped kitchen with all the essentials for a self-catering stay and an intimate dining table for two. The bedroom has a double bed with a new Emma mattress and wardrobe, while the ensuite bathroom has both a bath and a shower. We provide bed linen and towels. There is also an iron, ironing board and hairdryer should you require them. We have compiled a Guest Information folder where you will find some property information, details about the local area and some food and drink recommendations. Explore the beautiful Chilterns landscape at Wendover Woods, with stunning views across the Chiltern Hills, perhaps walk a section of the famous Ridgeway Trail, then grab some refreshment from one of the many restaurant and pubs - all within minutes of the Cottage. In addition with direct trains into London Marylebone taking under a hour - the delights of the capital city are all with easy reach. Guest access Curiosity Cottage is self contained and has its own entrance off the main street. Other things to note We welcome one well behaved dog. Please do expect some level of everyday noise - Wendover is a bustling town and the cottage is in the vicinity of pubs, restaurants, a nursery and has families living close by. This is strictly a no smoking property.
