Description
Step back in time for a unique, tranquil getaway. The farmhouse dates back to the 16th century when it was once a milking parlor. Now with a grade II listing this quirky home has been described as the house of 'Alice in Wonderland.' You will enjoy the surrounding 10acre estate with a private riverside walk and weeping willows. This is an ideal getaway for a calm and restorative break away in the English countryside. The space A well presented heritage farmhouse that is loved so much, it had to be shared. Located in the village of Nounsley you can walk to the local farm shop or pub. You will have direct access to a public footpath for beautiful countryside walks or you can retreat away from it all by staying home for a riverside stroll and games in the grounds during the day, before star gazing and sitting by an open fire at night. As you will expect from an old house, there are some low beams and steps to navigate. Two bedrooms are upstairs with one toilet and the third bedroom on the ground floor, where the bathroom is located. If you have any questions please ask your host and we hope you will enjoy your stay. Guest access Guests have full access to the farmhouse and grounds. If you have children please be aware of an area to the rear of the house where a natural swimming pond is in progress, but hidden by trees. There is also a well just before this area. On occasion we hold wellness workshops / retreats on the grounds, away from the farmhouse. If you wish to find out more information please speak to your host. The barns and stables are currently not accessible to guests and are home to two outside rescue cats. Your hosts, Joanne or her husband Stuart, will access the barns/stables each morning/evening to feed the cats and water the kitchen garden and will be available if you have any questions.
