Stay in a beautiful place ~ the comfortable and private Garden Rooms This unique place to stay is set in one of Hampshire's most historic villages, Selborne in The South Downs National Park and famously the setting of Gilbert White’s Museum & Gardens and The Oates Collection. The space Enjoy the private accommodation which includes a large 22ft bedroom with a comfy seating area at one end, a juliet balcony and generous windows with garden views. There is a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. There is a spacious 17ft sittingroom downstairs for relaxing with a dining table, a desk and chair working space and a sun terrace outside with table and chairs. On a small breakfast bar a kettle, toaster, microwave and fridge are provided to prepare food and drinks. There is a dining table and chairs inside or use of table and chairs on the terrace for alfresco dining. Tea, coffee and milk are provided along with cutlery, a bottle opener, mugs, plates, bowls, glasses and wine glasses. We are an easy stroll to White’s Cafe, The Jubilee Tap (open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings selling beers brewed in Selborne), La Luna Cafe and there are many lovely country pubs offering drinks and good food nearby. Guest access Upon checkin you will be welcomed, shown around the accommodation. Please ask questions and for local directions to make your stay run smoothly. The property set on two floors is tranquil and private with historic and green views. There is private off-road car parking provided directly outside the building. There is further parking in the village. Other things to note The property is surrounded by scenery of outstanding natural beauty very popular with walkers and cyclists. The property is on the famous 'Hanger Way' walking route. While staying you will be situated amongst gardens and fields in one of Hampshire's most un-spoilt and characterful villages. Located in the South Downs National Park Low Light Zone it is a wonderful place for stargazing. Then pull the blackout blinds closed at night for a great nights sleep Amongst many places of interest Jane Austin’s House & Museum is a short drive in neighbouring Chawton along with RHS Partner Gardens at Chawton House. The market town of Alton provides a range of facilities, supermarkets, banks, pharmacies as well as a mainline train station to London Waterloo in approximately an hour. The famous Watercress Line steam train also departs from Alton to Winchester and back regularly from the same station. The A3 and A31 roads nearby provide a driving route northwards to London and southwards to the south coast and west country. We are equidistant from Heathrow and Gatwick and a short drive to the international ferry ports of Southampton and Portsmouth.
