It has been recently renovated maintaining the atmosphere of the past, with new apartments characterized by a wonderful landscape & sea view. The HOLIDAY HOME is surrounded by a quiet and relaxing geographical-naturalistic context, just 10 minutes far from the sea. After years spent in Emilia Romagna, for work reasons and around the world travelling, the dream of the owners HOST of “Santa Barbara” to regenerate & revitalize the ancient village of Badolato was transformed into a conservative restoration project of the old grandparents' house (a place of indelible affections and moments of life and family joy). The activities & services of B&B/ Holiday Home “Santa Barbara” started officially on 2008. It became reference point for many foreign guests, especially from Northern Europe, thanks to a special offer of integrated and diversified tourist services and with joint proposals for a slow, experiential, food and wine, cultural, emotional and social tourism. “Santa Barbara” is also able to offer several solutions for short and long stays, interesting experiences for authentic holidays linked to folk traditions and according to local history of the place and its community. The HOME HOLIDAY is equipped by several apartments (studios, suite, two-room and three-room flats) with every comfort, terraces overlooking the Ionian sea and mountains, with outdoor table and chairs, large bathrooms with shower, an independent entrance, TV, air-conditioning (also for heating), use of washing machine, WI-FI (fiber line/fast connection), bicycles available. “Santa Barbara” is located on the up-west-side of Badolato and along the main road of the village in Corso Umberto I n°78. Badolato is a charming medieval village, which stands up on a hill 240 meters above sea level. It is only 5 km far from the white beaches of the Ionian Coast and 9 km from the wild mountains of Serre Calabresi Regional Natural Park. Badolato is a small crib overlooking the Gulf of Squillace, with important religious traditions and fourteen ancient churches and many characteristic narrow-alleys. Nearby the village, few kms around, is possible to enjoy & experience naturalistic trails, hiking & trekking trails, stages of the “Ciclovia dei Parchi” (Regional Bike-Route of the Natural Parks), stages of “Cammino Basiliano” (Basilian Path) and the interesting "Kalabria Coast to Coast" from Soverato to Pizzo Calabro. You can also enjoy sea-sports, diving and other outdoor acitivities, culinary experiences & tours. A place which be used, during the summer-time, for a restaurant service called “Catojo dello Spineto”.
