Relax with the whole family in this 150-year-old Eifel house. 1.2 km from Freilingersee and endless walks directly from the house. Forest, nature, and tranquility. We do not have internet and heat with wood stoves. The space We heat exclusively with wood stoves and do not have internet. For those who love to cook, our large, fully equipped kitchen is a real highlight. It features a five-burner gas stove as well as a ceramic cooktop with four burners and an oven. Our garden may be small, but in the morning, it offers a lovely spot for a leisurely breakfast in the sun. In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset on our small rooftop terrace in the courtyard – right in the heart of the village and very idyllic. The bedroom has a spacious sofa bed for two people. In the living room, you can relax either on the XXL couch or another large sofa. For fresh bread rolls and small groceries, "Carmen’s Village Store" is just about 200 meters down the street. If you’d like to enjoy a beer, a glass of wine, or traditional German cuisine in the evening, the cozy "Jägerhof" is a great place to visit – only around 250 meters away. On hot days, the Freilinger Lake, with its expansive sunbathing lawn, invites you to sunbathe, swim, or relax at the beach bar. Even during the summer holidays, you can still find a quiet spot here. Distance: 1.2 km. Right from the house, you can take beautiful walks in all directions. The Ahrweg trail is less than 800 meters away, and the surrounding forests offer a special nature experience in every season – even in the rain, as long as you're dressed for it. Our only heating apart from the wood stoves is the underfloor heating in the spacious bathroom. After a long walk, it’s the perfect place to unwind with a hot bath. Our house is located directly next to a cow barn, and the clay walls create a naturally rustic atmosphere. Therefore, it is not suitable for people with pet hair allergies or a fear of spiders. We also kindly ask you not to kill spiders – they are our little helpers against flies and other insects. If a spider bothers you, simply relocate it gently to the garden. Since we rely entirely on wood heating, it is important that you have experience with wood stoves or feel confident using them. Sitting by the crackling fireplace in the evening – perhaps with a glass of wine – is a truly cozy experience you won’t forget anytime soon. Guest access When you are our guest, the house is entirely yours. You are welcome to park in the courtyard. My son and I are also often in this house for a weekend when it is not rented, so our personal belongings will remain in place. We kindly ask you to respect that. There, you'll find a REWE, ALDI, LIDL, and everything else you might need for daily essentials. A visit to the Ahr Spring and Blankenheim Castle is also worthwhile – not so much for the spring itself, which is rather unremarkable, but for the charming old town, which invites you to stroll around and explore. please don't smoke inside the house. thank you.
