The bedroom contains two desks with power outlets, providing ample room for big monitors. If you need large monitors, Christopher offers rentals as part of his website work. The kitchen entry area features a round table, and there is another table with chairs on the covered deck. Please note that the property has stairs, which may be a consideration if you have any mobility concerns. There is also a spacious rooftop balcony under the solar panels, offering a peaceful spot for those who wish to smoke. The building remains cool throughout the day, as the many solar panels shade the roof from direct sunlight. The entrance has two doors—you are welcome to leave the inner door open to enjoy the breeze. Power interruptions are common in the Philippines, so we provide a solar inverter and battery backup for essential needs. This system powers the water pump, Internet, refrigerator freezer, and your fan. Outdoor lights turn on automatically at night for added convenience. From the bed, you can enjoy views of the sunrise and seascape. A gardener visits weekly to maintain the property and provide fresh coconuts. If you need help with cleaning or cooking, local assistance is available, or you can discuss arrangements with us. Enjoy the fresh air, peaceful surroundings, and freedom from interruptions. The town, approximately 5 kilometers away by bird flight, is rarely heard except when the wind carries the sounds or during festive celebrations. The local school and plaza, about 500 meters away, may sometimes be noisy as well. We have quiet, friendly dogs on the property who may visit if you offer them treats and affection. They help keep the place secure, ensuring no unwelcome guests. It is a very safe location—arguably safer than most places in the world—so you can relax and enjoy your time here without concern. Visa renewals are straightforward, allowing you to stay for up to three years without needing to exit. We have extensive experience with this process, so feel free to ask. Situated at an elevation and away from the concrete jungle, the area enjoys a cooler and cleaner environment, making it an ideal retreat. Guest access The entire floor is yours. The balcony above is used occasionally for servicing the solar panels and doubles as a laundry area. The property spans many hectares, and you are free to wander, walk, or hike as you please. My Happy Time – Local Activities: All-Tide Beach & Dining – Staffed 24 hours, offering snacks and basic meals. Tucked away from the main road, it is a great place to bring guests. You can swim barefoot at any tide, as the water deepens quickly. Safe for children but can be noisy on weekends. Carmen Jungle Safari - a bid day trip with a lot of surprises Hot Springs & Wild Monkey Feeding – A unique experience combining relaxation and wildlife interaction. Exploring the Backcountry by Motorbike – A fantastic way to discover the area's hidden gems. A variety of motorbike types are available for rent locally. Eating Local Food at Great Prices – During school days, a large cafeteria next to the Catmon Integrated School (15mins. drive) offers some of the best meals and take-outs at unbeatable student prices. Daily Early Morning Walks – The best time to walk is before sunrise to avoid the heat of the day. Christopher, an engineer and dive instructor, writes educational content. Maria enjoys cooking for guests and experimenting with new recipes. Our family has a deep love for water—any kind, anywhere. The room includes a bookshelf in the storeroom and access to the large library by appointment. Other things to note The locals are respectful, down-to-earth, very helpful, and friendly. However, they have little tolerance for rude, bad-tempered, or threatening behavior. If you have personal or entitlement issues, please leave them behind. The district is very safe and relaxed. A hospital and a selection of medical clinics are available within 15 km. This apartment is usually free of insects. If the air is still, simply use the fan, though this is rare, as the apartment is typically breezy. Being elevated and away from dense vegetation, mosquitos are not a concern. Happy travels!
