The house is ideally situated in the most scenic area of Donegal coastline in the seaside area of Bunbeg/ Derrybeg, internationally known for its culture, language and traditional music. Situated in a quiet peaceful setting, the house is safe for children, with miles of sandy beaches only 1/2 mile away. Both rooms access the kitchen. A large double height hall area accesses the bottom bathroom and 2 double bedrooms, one of which is ensuite. A pine staircase leads to a further 2 double bedrooms, an upstairs bathroom and an additional single room. Guest access The home is serviced by a short lane which leads to a private area and the house. There is a gravel drive. the house is accessed by 2 steps front and back. A foot path surrounding the full house. Other things to note BUNBEG/ DERRYBEG AND GLASSAGH AREAS Our local area has interests for everyone- quiet walks along the beach or, for the more adventurous, a climb of Errigal, Donegal's highest mountain. You will be convenient to hotels/ leisure centre, shops, beaches, fishing and golf. Seafood restaurants, traditional music, surfing/ kayaking/ sailing and horse riding are all available locally. The house is a 5 minute walk from Teac Jacks hotel, which has week end ceilidis every week. Stroll along to the Martello tower, visit Europe's smallest harbour- Bunbeg- and take a trip on the ferry to Tory Island. Visit Glenveagh National Park and experience it's peace and tranquility among the Derryveagh mountains. Fish for salmon on the Clady river or bring the children to Dunlewey Lakeside Centre. The golfer has a choice of golf courses, Gweedore 3km, Cruit 20km, Portnoo 40km, Pitch & Putt 20km. ATTRACTIONS Errigal Mountain is Donegal’s highest mountain peak. Errigal Mountain is one of the most popular climbs in Ireland. The ascent to Errigal in Dún Lúiche is clearly marked and this climb can be started at Mín na gCapóg near Dún Lúiche. Be sure you bring a solid pair of Hiking boots/shoes and warm clothes if planning on ascending Errigal. Also make sure someone knows you are climbing in case of sudden fog or low cloud. Even though Errigal is the highest peak in Donegal it is a relatively easy climb and the visitor will be rewarded with a panoramic view of the three neighbouring parishes on reaching the summit. Other popular mountain climbs include An Mhucais and Sliabh Sneachta. • Bloody Foreland -- Cnoc Fola Cnoc Fola has some breathtaking scenery. Legend states that Balor of the Evil Eye was eventually slain by his grandson Lugh Lámh Fhada on the slopes of Cnoc Fola. Some people believe that the blood which came from Balor's evil eye gave the hill its name. Others claim that it derives its name from the fact that the rock takes on a warm, ruddy hue when lit by the sitting sun. • Golf -- Gailf There is a 9 hole Golf Course at Machaire Gathlán, Gaoth Dobhair. The modern clubhouse provides all the necessary facilities. The course is open all year to visitors on payment of moderate green fees. Other 9 hole Golf Courses situated nearby include Cruit Island Golf Club and Cloughaneely Club in Falcarragh. Gweedore golf club Magheragallen, Derrybeg, Letterkenny, Donegal. • Fishing -- Iascaireacht This area is a fisherman's haven with ample facilities available for fresh water fishing and deep sea angling. • Swimming -- Snámh There is an abundance of safe sandy beaches to be found right along the coast. An Cuirt Hotel have indoor leisure facilities which include a 17m swimming pool, jacuzzi and health club equipped with Nautilus health and fitness equipment. • Evening Entertainment -- Siamsaíocht There is a wide variety of evening entertainment available in the local hotels, bars, lounges and clubs, ranging from traditional Irish music, ballad sessions, discos and céilí. Even enjoy a local GAA match in the nearby pitch, where you can see some of the future county players.
