The Bunkhouse East (b) - Near Gentle Woods Park

The Bunkhouse East is a large, light & airy loft-like space that can be divided for privacy by a curtain. There is both a king and a queen-sized bed and a private bathroom with shower. The shower has a built-in seat & personal detachable shower head. Sliding glass doors provide access to the back deck and garden (currently being renovated). Access to the Bunkhouse East is down the covered boardwalk and through the large shared kitchen/gathering space. Pet/bicycle friendly. The space The Homestead at Ash Creek in Monmouth has been owned by the Osborn family for over 30 years. Built by watercolorist James Kirk in the '60's it is a Mid Century Modern dwelling designed in the Eichler style. The property is located in the Gentle Woods neighborhood -- popular with dog walkers (close to the dog park), nature lovers (we back up to the Middle Fork of Ash Creek) and close to WOU. Guest access The Bunkhouse East is accessed by taking the sidewalk to the right of the driveway (the “b” side), then through the herb drying room and through the large shared kitchen/gathering room. The Bunkhouse East bedroom door is to the right. There are no steps and it is pretty accessible for walkers, scooters and wheelchairs. During your stay Our family lives across the street & uses the large gathering space & kitchen. Grandkids help with the garden & animals — Other things to note We are privileged to steward this MCM home and are constantly renovating to make it more comfortable & accessible. We love the fact that much of the home is original -- Formica counters in the bathrooms! We also love our guests -- thank you for taking good care of our family home!
