Getaway to the forest. Easy access from Redlands/Yucaipa. The Top of Pine Log Cabin was built by Van Horn in 1932. Close to Big Falls & Vivian Creek/Momyer hiking trails. Sleeps 4 in private rooms & 1 on a sofa bed. Well-stocked kitchen, family dining table with mountain view, Propane BBQ Grill, remote control Gas Log Fireplace, Roku TV & Fast WiFi. Parking for 2 cars only. Experience the quaint town of Forest Falls, surrounded by massive trees, at this historic log cabin. Book now! The space On the corner of the main road (Valley of the Falls) with two parking places. A small yard for snow play, with a rock wall separating it from the main road. Top of Pine Log Cabin has a Living room and dining room with high ceilings, two bedrooms, kitchen, deck, and a TV room downstairs. National Forest Adventure passes are required to park at the Momeyer or Vivian Creek Trailheads. The Momeyer parking lot (gravel) is not very large and is located 2 minutes back down Valley of the Falls Drive, past the Fire Station. The Vivian Creek Trailhead and the trail through Mill Creek to Big Falls waterfall are 3 minutes uphill on Valley of the Falls Drive to the paved parking lot at the end of the road. National Forest Adventure passes are available at Elkhorn General Store in town until 8 pm. Guest access The entire property is available for your use with the exception of the storage/laundry room. The laundry room is locked off unless you are booked for a longer stay. Please inquire. Other things to note Sorry, no pets. Stairs to the front door. Beautiful rock fireplace with gas log insert; easy to light with the press of a remote (available seasonally). Centrally located gas furnace vents upstairs and downstairs. High-speed Frontier WiFi throughout the cabin. Cell phone service is spotty in town, so plan to connect to WiFi while at Top of Pine Cabin. Please note that this mountain retreat is subject to snowfall, so be prepared for changing conditions and check the weather forecast before your arrival. During the winter months, a 4-wheel drive vehicle and/or chains may be required on the main road to access the property, as determined by the California Highway Patrol. Just a short drive away from your cabin, you'll find an array of outdoor activities to enjoy throughout the year. Explore Big Falls Waterfall or hike to trailheads that lead through Mill Creek to Mt. San Gorgonio and Mt. San Bernardino. In the winter, snowplay or sled ride in the nearby National Forest picnic area, or go skiing at Big Bear, about an hour's drive away. In the fall season, head to Oak Glen for apple picking and pumpkin patch fun, a 30-minute drive away. There's something for everyone to experience in this picturesque location. Please note that Hwy 38 is closed to Big Bear due to storm damage to the road. This property holds a San Bernardino County Short Term Rental License and is subject to the associated rules, which include quiet hours mandated by the County from 10 pm to 7 am and a good neighbor complaint hotline.
