Little Wonder sits on a secluded dirt road on miles of open desert wilderness w/ unobstructed views of the surrounding mountains. It is a 10 minute drive from the north entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. The house is surrounded by private patios, native desert gardens, a BBQ, & a firepit. Under new ownership. The space Little Wonder is a 600-square-foot, one-bedroom, open-plan cabin. We think it works best as a romantic two-person getaway. We have satellite wifi and a mini-split heating and cooling unit and a ceiling fan in the living room and an AC/heater wall unit in the bedroom. Our kitchen is fully equipped for cooking with pots, pans, stove with an oven and a refrigerator/freezer. We supply fresh coffee and a french press and coffee grinder for the most delicious coffee. Outside we have multiple seating and lounging spots. The eastern side of the house features a patio right outside your bedroom slider for morning coffee and a perfect view of the sunrise. This patio gets natural shade from the house in the afternoon and evening, perfect for cocktail hour. The western patio under the pergola has a BBQ and outdoor dining table. The surrounding fully fenced ground boasts a beautiful garden full of native and desert plants. A cowboy pool has been added for your enjoyment as well as a hot tub. The cabin is remote and private, about a mile down a well-maintained dirt road so no need for 4 wheel drive. Little Wonder Cabin Summary: • Beautiful 600 sq. ft. one-bedroom room, open-plan cabin. • Amazing views of the surrounding mountain ranges including JT National Park, Queen Mountain, Pinto Mountain, Big and Little San Bernardinos, Sheep Hole, and Bullion Mountains. • Dine-in kitchen table with views into our garden and desert. • Full kitchen with stove, oven, fridge, cookware & coffee fixings. • Mini-split with AC and heat, and a ceiling fan plus a wall unit in the bedroom. • Blinds on all windows so you shut out the world when you want to. • Satellite Wifi. • Watch the sunrise and moonrise from the patio outside your bedroom. • Outdoor dining on a shaded front patio in the garden right next to the propane BBQ. • Additional chairs and benches for relaxing in the fully fenced yard. • Enclosed fire pit, wind conditions permitting. (Burn restriction laws must be observed in wildfire season.) Guest access The entire space is yours for the duration of your stay. We'll give you a code to our lockbox and you can self-check-in anytime after 3 pm. Please put the keys back in the lockbox when checking-out. Check out time is 11 am. Other things to note QUIET PLEASE - Little Wonder is a quiet retreat; please no parties or loud music. Sound travels in the desert and though our nearest neighbors are 10 acres away, they can hear everything. Additionally, no OHVs due to wildlife habitat protection. GENERAL - Little Wonder doesn’t have a TV but we have wifi and you are free to stream on your laptop. LIGHT - Our cabin is beautifully filled with windows and light. We have blinds, but we don't have blackout shades. If you're a late sleeper we recommend you bring a sleep mask. WATER - The house is on a well but all the plumbing works like normal! CREATURES - Our land is filled with creatures. We see lizards, families of quail, desert tortoises, hawks, ravens, roadrunners, and jackrabbits. We also keep an eye out for coyotes, rattlesnakes, and scorpions and you should too. TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX (TOT) - A 7% tax required by San Bernardino County. Airbnb collects this tax and sends it into the county as a part of your nightly fees.
