The Garden Level Flat is one of the more modernized areas of the historic Gufler Mansion, and boasts a full kitchen, spacious living room, dining area, unique bathroom, and multiple bedrooms - each with a different theme. It is accessible through stairs from the Mansion proper, or via a private access door from the parking area. Breakfast is included with your stay. You'll have the floor to yourself and are welcome to explore other areas of the Mansion. Construction began on our unique mansion in 1915, at the behest of Albert Henry Gufler. The original woodwork highlights the updated amenities of the home. Throughout the home you will find glimpses of history intertwined with modern enhancements. There is off-street parking available, and guests can come and go after they've checked in. Guests will have access to all shared areas, such as the sunrooms, dining and living room on the first floor, as well as the entire Garden Level Flat. It is accessible through stairs from the Mansion proper, or via a private access door from the parking area. We will be nearby and available via phone or email, should you need anything, but you'll have the Garden Level Flat to yourself. The Gufler Mansion is conveniently located within walking distance of the Emporia State University campus, the hospital, and Emporia's historic downtown. Enjoy a stroll down Commercial Street - recently named by USA Today as the best Main Street in the USA! We offer off-street parking in our cobblestone parking lot at the rear of the house, accessible via West St. Guests are also welcome to park on the street if they would prefer. We are within walking distance to Emporia State University and burgeoning downtown Commerical St in Emporia, KS. Please note you will need to use stairs to access the Garden Level Flat.
