Mant’s Crake takes its name from a rare bird discovered by Professor Greville P. Mant, still drawing birdwatchers to Barrow’s Green. The room is also woven into local lore as the subject of Edith Amherst’s “The Night Bird,” a once-celebrated painting now remembered for its mysterious defacement. Guest access Guests may check in online in advance and simply collect their keys at the welcome desk or check in upon arrival with our staff. There are no controlled hours, we only request that you be respectful of other guests staying in the Inn after bedtime and before breakfast During your stay We have a 24 hour front desk Other things to note We are delighted to share that we do welcome pets. There is a $75 fee per visit, so you’re free to bring along your four-legged companions to enjoy the charm of the inn right alongside you.
