3 story home located in the Saint Marks National Wildlife Refuge on Buckhorn Creek. Paddle, Hike, View wildlife or catch it--by hook or camera. Fishing dock and canoes, kayaks and bikes available to guests at no extra costs. This is a wildlife refuge it is biologically diverse, quiet. A 14 foot Jon Boat with oars and a 15 HP Honda tiller drive is available for $50 a day plus fuel, please notify ahead to reserve. The space This is a naturebased destination in a National Wildlife Refuge built on the site of a 1920s fishing camp. Very quiet, great skies, cool water and many trails. House is open and bright and full of local history. There are 2 beds and 2 bedrooms available if needed and a private living area with TV by the bedrooms and private full bath. Guest access Commercial stove and oven both gas and electric. Almost all of the second floor can be guests private space. Everything else is shared. During your stay Normally here at the start but come and go. It is really a decision by the guest as too how much direction they desire. I know the region and state very well and have been very helpful to travelers looking for the cool cool places on their journey. Other things to note This Ochlockonee river basin was inhabited for thousands of years by native peoples. It is in a geological transition zone between Karst ecosystem and Sandhills ecosystems. Seldom are others seen while paddling or hiking. Much of it and the islands around us are unexplored.
