Description

Welcome to the heart of Tuscany! Maniero del Brunelleschi-Medieval Apartments Resort offers spectacular apartments with exclusive swimming pool in the picturesque Tuscan village of Vicopisano between Pisa, Florence and Lucca. The apt. "La Torre" will captivate you for its sensational location set between the ancient medieval tower and the walls of the village. Ceilings with large wooden beams, Florentine terracotta floors, wrought iron lights will embellish your living room in style! The space Ready to spend an unforgettable holiday in the heart of Tuscany? BRUNELLESCHI MANOR - Medieval Apartments Resort is waiting for you! You can enjoy the unique experience of staying in an authentic medieval fortress finely restored where Tuscan charm and modern comforts merge into 5 different themed apartments with an exclusive swimming pool serving the Resort's units. The Resort is located in the medieval village of Vicopisano, a Tuscan gem where the genius of Florentine architect Filippo Brunelleschi created the Castle fortress that dominates the picturesque village. Apartment La Torre The apartment is located on the first floor of the main building of the Manor and offers a kitchen, living room with sofa bed, bathroom and double bedroom: it owes its name to the observation tower that originally served the medieval fort and which today is only an architectural element of the outer walls of the fortification. The outside of the old tower is still visible from the kitchen window of the apartment that overlooks the wall but also from the inside or in the living area: extraordinary detail is the ancient capital of the tower that at the time was an integral part of the fort and the same medieval walls that are still present even now in the double bedroom. The Tuscan rustic brick kitchen consists of a grit sink, large countertop and induction hob: the refrigerator and dishwasher are located in the wooden recesses of the kitchen itself where you will also find pots, microwave, kettle, toaster and everything you need to prepare a beautiful Tuscan dinner! The beautiful period window overlooks the kitchen overlooking a picturesque window over the surrounding countryside. The expertly decorated bathroom is set under a medieval arch and has a large shower, toilet, bidet and sink. Like the other rooms it is not devoid of style details: the sink, in fact, rests on an olive wood table that is located in an old sewing machine. The Piccionaia, or the Living Room, owes its name to its historic function as a room, then adjacent to the medieval Tower, where the travelling pigeons were kept. The atmosphere today is extremely evocative given the high ceiling characterised by chestnut beams and terracotta mezzanines and the living room is very bright with a window overlooking the courtyard. The large leather sofa, convenient for enjoying the TV corner, becomes a kingsofa bed if necessary to use the living room as a second bedroom: the comfortable size of the sofa bed makes it perfect for rest for both adults and children. The living room is embellished with ancient prints and centuries-old madia where, for centuries, bread was put to rest and which is a typical element of rustic Tuscan houses. The Messenger's Room, or the double room, is a location of extraordinary beauty: in the Middle Ages it was the residence of the Messenger responsible for sending the travelling pigeons. The large four-poster bed dominates the room directly carved into the exposed stone fortification walls. You can see the overlapping of different types of stone to confirm the construction of the fortification walls of Vicopisano in several historical periods: the first layer even dates back to the first Roman settlement. The plays of light and shade of wrought iron lamps create a magical and evocative environment that envelops its guests taking them back in time: sleeping here is truly a unique experience, indescribable in words! A period wardrobe of great value embellishes the environment along with a characteristic vintage trunk and sink under a ceiling of exceptional beauty, characterised by a cross of ancient chestnut beams. Each apartment also has modern comforts such as Wi-Fi and Air Conditioning, air conditioning, induction hobs, satellite and cable TV, antique porcelain electrical outlets with rotary switches, fully equipped kitchens with refrigerator and dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board, bed and bath linens, laundry service on request, poolside umbrella station with pool towel service included. All the properties of the Brunelleschi Manor – Medieval Apartments Resort have access to the spectacular private swimming pool of the structure with dedicated umbrella station with deckchairs/sun loungers, tech power supply and external Wi-Fi. The common area of the oven is at the service of all guests. The Furnace Each apartment in the Manor can take advantage of the historic Furnace, a common and passageway environment for all guests to access the exclusive swimming pool, the garden and the internal loggia. The oven is a one-of-a-kind environment that we strongly wanted to keep in its original form: in the Middle Ages the real oven, which still measures 3mt by 3mt, was at the service of the entire village for the production of bread. Today we wanted to pay tribute to him by making it the environment reserved for our Tuscan Cooking Courses, not to mention the poolside aperitifs, wine & food tastings and weekly themed dinners. The oven is finely decorated on the ceiling with the tools typical of the rural history of our country: imagine learning how to prepare fresh handmade pasta, Tuscan cakes and biscuits, bruschetta and much more in this fantastic location! Adjacent to the main room of the oven is another service room – called the Castro del Piale: in ancient times pigs were kept there which also had the possibility of going out into an enclosed outdoor space which today is instead our poolside aperitif corner. In the Castro you will find a large fridge in service during your swimming pool time to enjoy fresh drinks directly on site, as well as a large freezer divided into departments for each apartment that you can use if you need it. The Tuscan stone pool Incredible, it is the only adjective that we think can describe the environment we have created for you: the large private swimming pool, made of stone from our Pisan Mountains and surrounded by the splendid scenery of the medieval walls of Vicopisano. Guests of the Brunelleschi Manor – Medieval Apartments Resort will be able to enjoy a swim in a unique setting such as that of a typical Tuscan medieval village upon returning from the daily excursions. Details and style are not lacking even in the exterior spaces of the Manor: copper shower and foot washbasin recreated with an ancient capital and a stone grinder for the entrance to the pool. Each apartment can enjoy around the pool area its own umbrella station, with charging for electronic devices and external Wi-Fi, as well as a relaxation area under the porch: waiting for aperitifs and poolside dinners, musical evenings and everything that will make your holiday unforgettable! The Medieval Court and the Tuscan Garden The great main courtyard of the manor was restored with the same material of the time, namely the famous cooked Impruneta. Protected by ancient columns and the centuries-old medieval wrought-iron chain, the Court embellishes the facade of the Manor with character and unmistakable medieval style thanks to the medieval coats of arms that still reflect the ancient power of the then fort. The Tuscan Garden, on the other hand, houses a large centuries-old olive tree of indomitable beauty under which you will find the pleasure of a break on the large stone benches of the Pisan Mountains. The magic continues even in the evening when the Manor Court lights up with its lighting on the medieval walls of the property: a postcard image.. unforgettable!
