Set in peaceful rolling countryside, this detached 16th-century cottage is full of character and charm, with beamed interior and inglenook fireplace with wood burner. Furnished and equipped to a very good standard, with a private enclosed garden with a patio terrace and furniture. There are many excellent walking and cycling opportunities direct from the doorstep. Visit bustling market towns, pretty villages and excellent sandy beaches. Please note: There are steep stairs at the property. The space Saracen's Retreat is set in a quiet and peaceful corner of Norfolk countryside. With parts dating to the 16th century, the house is a mix of old and new, comfortable and modern but with historical features throughout. Although we are new to Airbnb the cottage has been a holiday home for many years, with several families visiting every year. There are many excellent walking and cycling opportunities with quiet lanes and designated trails direct from the doorstep. Visit bustling market towns, pretty villages and excellent sandy beaches. The seaside towns of Sheringham, and Cromer, offer an array of activities for all ages and excellent beaches. Other places to visit include Holt, Blakeney Quay and Norwich with its excellent shopping, cathedral, theatre, castle, museum, cafes and restaurants. National Trust properties nearby include Blickling Hall, Felbrigg Hall and Sheringham Park. Wroxham is the capital of the Norfolk Broads and has miles of inland waterways, where daily boat hire and river trips are available, as well as waterside cafes, restaurants and shops. Pub and restaurant 1½ miles. There's a single bedroom on the ground floor, all other bedrooms are on the first floor. There's a ground floor full bathroom and a first floor shower room with toilet. All bed linen and towels are provided, as well as tea towels in the kitchen. We also provide essentials such as washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and hand soap. We are able to provide a travel cot and high chair if required, please let us know if this is needed. The steep stairs to the first floor double room are the traditional "Norfolk Winder' staircase, as was common in the 16th and 17th century. There is another staircase in the more recent extension. We have a choice of two patio areas, the one leading from the TV room is perfect for watching sunsets. Please note that smoking is not allowed anywhere on the property. Two well-behaved dogs are permitted and owners are fully responsible for clearing up after their pet - failure to do so may result in a cleaning surcharge.
