Description
Hills Rock is a Swiss style chalet, built upon a massive granite rock foundation, overlooking Phelps Brook in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks. Built in 1926 by family relative, scholar, mountaineer, and theologist, Walter Lowrie, this unique and beautiful summer home has a stunning view straight up John's Brook valley to the state's highest peak, Mt. Marcy. As well, it features a picturesque, slick granite rock brook running through the heart of the property. The property has 7 bedrooms and 5 1/2 baths. The kitchen is attractively updated and great to cook family dinners. There is a lean-to that sleeps 6, several footbridges, and a Japanese tea house converted to an open air sleeping quarter. Views of the high peaks abound from the front porch, the tea house and 2 bedrooms. Step into this beautiful historic home and experience the authenticity of the Adirondacks of old within the comfort of an updated and comfortable alpine residence.
