Available year-round, this elegant coastal retreat is ideal for families or couples looking to get away from it all and experience the beauty and tranquility of Mid-Coast Maine. The property features great views of the ocean and nearby islands. There is a mature garden on site for exploring, flower picking and blueberry sampling. The walk on the road around the island is just over two miles long and makes for great strolling. From the back end of the garden there is a path that travels through the mossy forest offering a quiet and contemplative hike. There is a small beach on the island that is shared amongst the homeowners and available to renters. The house itself, built in 2006, is centered around a huge open living area, with couches and comfortable chairs bathed in sunlight. Bedrooms are on opposite ends of the home. The kitchen is big and well-equipped. There are luxurious touches all around, including stone floors over radiant heating throughout, floor-to-ceiling windows in most rooms, a generous master bath with a jetted tub, and refined material finishes everywhere. The location is convenient to several great area attractions, including the Monhegan Ferry. It is halfway between Rockland and Port Clyde, about a 20-25 minute drive to either.
