Swim, kayak, or simply relax on our spacious deck as you take in views of the quiet, 61-acre “no wake” Pigeon Lake. Spend the day floating or kayaking down the Pigeon River, ending right at your cozy home away from home! Nature lovers will delight in regular visits from eagles, osprey, deer, otters, turkeys, beavers, and more. Fishing enthusiasts will enjoy easy access to trout-stocked waters each spring. Smallmouth and largemouth bass, walleye, northern pike, catfish, crappie, and bluegill are all possible catches. *The Space This 2-bedroom, 1-bath cottage is the perfect place to unwind and recharge. Kitchen & Dining~ The fully stocked kitchen includes basic cooking essentials (salt, pepper, olive oil, utensils, pots & pans, toaster, crockpot) and a large island with extra bar seating. The dining table overlooks the lake—an ideal spot for every meal. Living Room~ Relax on a large, comfy sofa (which pulls out into a twin/double bed) and enjoy movie night on our 65” Roku Smart TV. Free high-speed Wi-Fi and local channels are available for your convenience. Bedrooms~ Bedroom 1: Queen bed, 43” Roku TV, reading lamp, and charging ports. Bedroom 2: Twin bed with twin trundle. Bathroom~ Features a walk-in shower, fresh towels, and essential toiletries. Extras~ Washer/dryer Hair dryer, iron + board Pack ‘n Play & Highchair Air conditioning & heating *We supply a limited amount of toilet paper, paper towels, trash bags and laundry detergent. We encourage bringing or purchasing additional supplies if you anticipate needing more. Outdoor Highlights~ The real magic happens outside! Spacious lakeside deck with table and seating for 4 Blackstone griddle for outdoor cooking Fire pit with provided firewood (because s’mores just taste better by the lake!) Two docks – fish, swim, or tie up your boat (5 mph “no wake” lake) 5 kayaks and adult life jackets available (seasonal: Memorial Day through September) Front porch for watching sunset across the fields Parking for 2 cars only (strictly enforced). Nearby Attractions~ If the weather keeps you off the water, you’re still in luck: Shipshewana (15 min) – Amish heritage, shops, flea market, concerts South Bend & Notre Dame (50 min) Kalamazoo (50 min) Plenty of restaurants are just 5–10 minutes away if you’d rather eat out than cook. Visiting in the Winter? Lakeside Nest is just as magical when the lake freezes and snow begins to fall! Bundle up and head outside for ice fishing, or simply enjoy the peaceful view of the snow drifting across the lake from the warmth of the cottage. For outdoor adventure, visit Pokagon State Park, just a short drive away, for tobogganing and winter hiking. We are NOT a party house and have a strict 10pm - 7am noise rule. After 10pm our neighbors should not hear you. IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO PARTY and come and go all hours of the night, we are not a good fit for you. Rowdiness, excessive noise, loud music, etc. are all grounds for removal. Our neighbors are all families who have children. Please be considerate of them and respectful of this rule or you will be made to leave the property immediately.~~~ The home is exclusively yours, without interruption for the duration of your stay, so relax, unwind, and make yourself at home. Depending on the length of your stay, someone may come and mow the lawn, but they will not bother you. All TVs: These Roku smart TV’s allow you to access your own streaming services (such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, etc.) as well as many built in channels. The living room TV also has local channels through our antenna. To be respectful of the neighbors, please be mindful of noise levels between 10pm. to 7am. Any complaints from neighbors will incur a $50 fee enforceable by renting the property.
