Freihof - Chez Annemarie

The historic Freihof from 1782 is an outstanding example of the rural building culture of the 18th century. The farmhouse, which is under national protection, was extensively renovated in 2022 in accordance with historical preservation standards. Great importance was attached to the preservation of the historical building fabric, while at the same time a contemporary use was made possible. Today, the building houses three independent apartments, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern living comfort. The space Chez “Annemarie” – Living under the roof of the historic Freihof. The spacious apartment is located on the 2nd floor of the farmhouse. A staircase leads up to the Gade (traditional wooden gallery), which serves as the access to the apartment. Facilities: • 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each (flexible use as single or double beds) • Fresh bed sheets and towels • Cozy living room with sofa and dining table • Private bathroom with modern shower/toilet (access via bedroom 2) • Private “balcony” in the Gade • Coffee machine (Nespresso, including capsules) and kettle (including tea bags) The apartment combines a historic atmosphere with contemporary amenities. Ideal for 2-4 people. Note on background noise: Please note that the house can be a little noisy. Guest access Access to the communal kitchen in the converted threshing floor – high-quality furnishings and plenty of space for cooking together. Please note that occasionally our friendly dog or one of our cats is there. They are trusting but respectful of our guests. Access to garden and patio, including smoker and fire bowl as well as sun loungers. Access to the parking space. In the courtyard there is enough space in the dry, for example, for bicycles brought along, including access to electricity. Access to washer & dryer on request. Other things to note Let us know in advance if you have any special requests. Work around the farm (e.g. Gardening 👩‍🌾) can also be planned together if there is interest. 🌿 For nature and biology fans: Our accommodation is in the immediate vicinity of our own renaturation project, which we have implemented with a lot of passion. Here you can discover and observe the local flora and fauna in their natural diversity – a real paradise for those who are enthusiastic about biodiversity, environmental protection and natural habitats. 🚄 For railway fans Our accommodation is close to the Önzberg Tunnel – a section of the modern 2000 railway line between Bern and Zurich. Since its opening in 2004, high-speed trains have been running here at speeds of up to 200 km/h. From the courtyard you can watch the trains emerge from the tunnel and shortly thereafter disappear into the next one – fascinating for all those who are enthusiastic about modern railway technology and infrastructure. And yes, you can easily sleep here with the window open. 🚭 Important: Smoking in the apartments is not allowed. Smoking outdoors only with ashtrays and appropriate caution.
