Freihof - Annemarie's

The historic Freihof from 1782 is an outstanding example of the rural building culture of the 18th century. The homeland protected farmhouse has been extensively and monumentally renovated in 2022. Great importance was attached to the preservation of the historical building structure, while at the same time enabling contemporary use. The building now houses three self-contained apartments, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern living comfort. The space Chez “Annemarie” – Living under the roof of the historic Freihof. The spacious apartment is on the 2nd floor of the farmhouse. A staircase leads up to the gade (traditional wooden gallery), which serves as access to the apartment. Amenities include: • 2 bedrooms with 2 beds each (flexible use as single or double beds) • Fresh bed sheets and towels • Cozy parlor with sofa bed and dining table • Private bathroom with modern shower/toilet (access via bedroom 2) • Private “balcony” in the Gade The apartment combines a historic atmosphere with contemporary amenities. Ideal for 2-4 persons. Note on the background noise: Please note that the house is clairaudient – especially if guests are in the shared kitchen, you can hear voices in bedroom 2. Bedroom 1 is not affected by this and offers a quiet sleeping environment. Guest access Access to the communal kitchen in the converted barn – high-quality equipped and with plenty of space for cooking together. Please note, occasionally our friendly dog or one of our cats will also be there. They are trusting, but respectful of our guests. Access to garden and garden seating, including Smoker and fire bowl as well as deck chairs. Access to the parking space. In the courtyard, there is ample space in the dry, e.g. for bicycles brought along, including access to electricity. Access to washer and dryer on request. Other things to note If you have any special requests, let us know in advance. Work around the yard (e.g. Gardening 👩‍🌾) can also be planned together if there is interest. 🌿 For nature and biology fans: Our accommodation is in close proximity to our own restoration project, which we have implemented with a lot of passion. Here you can discover and observe the local flora and fauna in their natural diversity – a real paradise for those who are passionate about biodiversity, environmental protection and natural habitats. 🚄 For train fans Our place is close to the Önzberg tunnel - a section of the modern railway 2000 line between Bern and Zurich. Since opening in 2004, high-speed trains run here at up to 200 km/h. From the Freihof, you can watch the trains emerge from the tunnel and disappear shortly thereafter – fascinating for anyone who is passionate about modern railway technology and infrastructure. And yes, you can easily sleep here with an open window. 🚭 Important: We do not allow to smoke in the apartments. Smoking outdoors only with ashtrays and appropriate caution.
