Nature lovers, come and relax in this exceptional accommodation located in a small quiet hamlet of the Vosges Saônoise, at the foot of the Plateau des 1000 étangs. This old miller's house, built by the river, has been completely renovated in the "Scandinavian Chalet" style. In the summer, enjoy a spacious pool and the freshness of Le Breuchin in a green setting. In the winter, you'll enjoy the warm and cozy atmosphere of the woods. NEW 2026: Nordic bath and sauna The space The Chalet des Aigrettes is a very spacious and bright accommodation that can comfortably accommodate a dozen people, on a surface of 200m2 divided into 2 floors. It is part of a very old property built on the banks of the Breuchin River: the "Moulin de La Voivre". In Napoleon's time, the mill produced flour, tan, or walnut oil, then it was transformed into a sawmill until the end of the last century. The whole, now entirely covered in wood and gradually painted in red and white in the Scandinavian way, consists of several buildings: - the former home of the miller, a renovated 18th century building converted into a cottage: the Chalet des Aigrettes. - the old sawmill, which we turned into a dwelling for ourselves. The two homes, totally independent of each other, form an "L" and are separated by a barn. We have renovated the cottage ourselves with great care, choosing natural and healthy materials: wood is ubiquitous inside and out, the paints and treatment oils have been made by us based on natural products (ochre, linseed oil, clay...), and the furniture and light fixtures are unique pieces, created by us. The cottage is thermally and phonically insulated. Double glazed windows guarantee peaceful nights and a relaxing stay, and the pellet stove heats the whole house in winter. You access the listing after climbing a few steps and crossing an original entrance porch adorned with white lambrequins. You enter directly into the largest room of the cottage (55m2), composed of several spaces: an entrance (coat rack, shoe cabinet), a dining room (monastery table for 12 guests), a modern well equipped kitchen, and a game lounge (with a table for 4 players and a library with books, DVDs and board games). You can sit comfortably in front of the pellet stove (glass fireplace, visible flame). A beautiful central staircase leads upstairs. On the right is a large 45 m2 living room that can be separated into two spaces thanks to a thick curtain: - an area with three sofas, a coffee table and a large TV (smart TV, 200 channels available with Orange, access to your NetFlix subscriptions or others) - a bedroom area with a comfortable sofa bed (BZ type, 160x190 mattress). On this floor is also a large bathroom (with a double basin sink, a luxurious walk-in shower for two people, a toilet, a washing machine, a dryer). At the top of the stairs, four comfortable bedrooms can accommodate up to 10 guests: - Bedroom 1: a queen-size bed (160x200), a wardrobe, a desk. - Bedroom 2: a queen size bed (160x200) + a single bed (90x200), a wardrobe, a desk. - Bedroom 3: a queen-size bed (160x200), a wardrobe, a desk. - Bedroom 4: Two single beds (90 x 200) + one drawer bed (90x190), one wardrobe. On this floor you will find a beautiful mezzanine that can be isolated from the rest of the floor by a thick curtain to serve as a bedroom. It is equipped with a sofa bed (BZ type, 140x190 mattress), a TV for watching DVDs and a small reading and games corner arranged in the attic for the little ones. On this floor is a second bathroom with a spacious shower cubicle, a double vanity sink, a toilet). Upon request, we provide you with various baby equipment free of charge: a travel cot with sheets and duvet, a bathtub, a changing table, and high chairs for indoors and outdoors. We have selected for you quality, ecological and natural mattresses and duvets (Le Matelas Vert), locally purchased cotton sheets (Tradition des Vosges). The sofas-BZ are also upscale, for quality sleeping. All box springs are slatted. The beds are made on arrival (4 season duvet + extra blanket). We provide bath linens, bathroom towels and shower mats. Basic products and accessories are provided (soap, shower shampoo, cleaning products, dish soap, tea towels, etc.) The integrated kitchen is spacious, bright and convenient, perfectly equipped with appliances, dishes and various utensils to cook good dishes and share convivial moments. Two fondue machines and two raclette machines are at your disposal! Chalet des Aigrettes is equipped with Fiber. Wifi is accessible in the whole house. Multiple ethernet outlets allow you to connect your laptops directly to the network for optimal connection (only one ethernet cable is provided, please don't forget to bring your equipment). Guest access The gite has a pleasant alfresco dining area and beautiful riverside grounds. These are not attached to the accommodation: you will access it from the parking lot of the cottage, a few dozen meters from the dwelling. Private parking is available for free to park up to 4 vehicles, with the possibility of recharging your electric batteries thanks to two increased outlets (consumption is charged at the end of the stay after reading the meters, at the rate of €0.25 per kwh). From the parking lot, you access your terrace in an enclosed private space of 64m2, quiet and out of sight, with a superb view of the river. In a green setting, two large sheltered picnic tables welcome you to eat, read, play or work (with a string of lights for the night). A small summer kitchen with gas barbecue allows you to cook outside, with a fridge to keep your drinks cool. Light and unbreakable dish service, as well as baskets and trays are available to facilitate your outdoor dining. During 2026 you will find two new features in this space: - an 8-seat NORDIC BATH installed on a wooden terrace extending towards the river (opening in February 2026) - a spacious SAUNA with changing room (opening in April 2026) Both will be accessible all year round, by reservation, with a supplement to be paid on site (contact us). From the overhanging terrace, go down a few steps and access the river and garden. On the bank is a small shaded corner under a grove of trees, very pleasant during the hottest hours of summer. There you can go down into the river. Your kids will love to play under the beautiful arches of the bridge. A beautiful flat and grassed terrain of about 700m2 awaits you a little further downstream, always by the river, in a sunny part of the garden. This area is dedicated to outdoor games and relaxation: ping pong table, badminton/volleyball net, archery set for children, Finnish bowling and other games are at your disposal, not to mention a petanque court (10 m x 3.5 m) and a superb above-ground swimming pool that can accommodate a dozen people (7.32 m x 3.66 m x 1.32 m) from June to September. Fishermen can indulge in their passion without leaving the property, this one has about 100 meters of clear bank (fishing card to buy from local shops). We provide an 80 cm diameter fire bowl, equipped with a grate, and dry wood. You can gather around the crackling flames, by the river. Enjoy garden furniture (6 chairs, a coffee table); 6 deckchairs and 2 sun loungers to relax as you wish. Please note that our home overlooks the playground and swimming pool, but everyone retains their privacy thanks to curtains drawn on our terrace (we rarely frequent this side of the house when the cottage is rented). The playground and pool are accessible from 8am to 8pm, night baths are not allowed. Children are your responsibility, always pay close attention to the road, the river and the pool (risk of accident and drowning). On the ground floor of the cottage, you have a room of 25m2, very cool in summer and heated in winter, locked, to store your bikes or any other equipment. There is also a foosball table! You have access to the room by bike, the terrace, the pool and the playground (space delimited by a cord). Please lock the doors when you leave the premises. The rest of the property (outbuildings, orchard, vegetable garden...) is private and not accessible to guests. However, if you are interested, we can show you around the garden and we will gladly share with you our seasonal production (green salads, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons...) Other things to note Your hosts, Coralie and Olivier, live on site with their three children: Noam (12), Coline (10) and Aloïs (5 years old). You will probably see them tinkering around the house, especially in the garden... But they will not encroach on your reserved spaces and will be discreet so as not to disturb your stay. In case of any problems and for any information, do not hesitate to contact them, your hosts of course remaining reachable on site or by phone for the duration of your stay. Please respect the tranquility of the place as well as the neighborhood of this small quiet hamlet: no party, no loud music, complete calm after 10pm. We remind you that the accommodation is strictly non-smoking (including e-cigarettes). If we notice after your departure a smell of smoke in the accommodation, we will be obliged to charge you for cleaning hours and the rental of an ozone managing device to get rid of the smell (100 euros). The entire property is prohibited for pets (except pets), inside and out. We have lovingly renovated and furnished this cottage... Thank you for taking the utmost care! On site, you can already take care of yourself outside if the weather is nice (swimming pool, ping pong, badminton, volleyball, pétanque, Finnish bowling, archery for the little ones), with the possibility of playing in the river and fishing (we do not provide the equipment). Inside, if it's raining, we have foosball and lots of board games. For athletes, the roads in the area lend themselves wonderfully to sports or tourist cycling (Route du Tour de France, Planche des Belles Filles 35 km away, many marked routes). The surrounding nature is ideal for beautiful walking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Possibility of renting mountain bikes and VTCs with electric assistance from the Faucogney and Mélisey Tourism Office. In winter, Nordic skiing enthusiasts can reach the Route des Forts ski area in St Bresson in 20 minutes. The ski areas of the Massif Vosgien are easily accessible in about 1 hour by road (Nordic skiing and downhill skiing, snowshoeing). For your walks with young children, feel free to rent a donkey in Saint-Bresson (Les petits trails ân'imés) or Melisey (Moulin Begeot). 4 km away, visit the medieval village of Faucogney-et-la-Mer (classified Cité de Caractère de Bourgogne Franche-Comté) with its Marché de Pays every Saturday night in summer and its farmers market every Thursday from 4 p.m. Our cottage is conveniently located on the route of Via Colombani, a marked itinerary allowing pilgrims to take the historical paths followed by the monk Saint Colomban between Ireland and Italy. Colomban lived about twenty years in the surroundings of Luxeuil between 590 and 610, he founded three abbeys and his passage deeply marked the landscapes and heritage of the Thousand Ponds. Passionate enthusiasts will be able to discover nearby several sites preserving the memory of Colomban and Valbert, its illustrious successor: the remains of Annegray, the chapel and the cave of Saint Colomban in Sainte-Marie-en-Chanois and the Hermitage Saint Valbert, not to mention the Abbey in Luxeuil.
