This home away from home is in a great central location just minutes away from both the Olympic Village of Lake Placid and the Town of Saranac Lake, thereby placing guests in a central location with opportunity for endless year round outdoor sporting activities, entertainment and various dining options! This cozy cabin with unique Adirondack touches throughout welcomes visitors with an open floor plan for the kitchen, living room and dining spaces. The comfortable living room boasts a large stone fireplace, perfect for those chilly evenings and the kitchen is fully equipped with all the tools you would need to prepare meals for dining at home. The dining room holds a large table with enough seating for everyone to gather together for mealtimes while gazing on lovely views that are perfectly framed by a large window. The primary bedroom with king bed and office space is conveniently located on the 1st floor and the 2nd floor holds a spacious bunkroom. There is Verizon cell service, internet is provided by Starlink and there are plenty of games and toys for hours of indoor fun. There is an abundance of outdoor space for guests enjoyment, with a hot tub for relaxing tired muscles after fun-filled days and a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs that invite guests to relax, toast smores or just do a bit of stargazing. Bring along yard games to enjoy the spacious yard, sway in a hammock or use the 2 kayaks and a canoe to cruise across the river. There is also a gazebo alongside the river only 150 meters away that is accessed by a pathway and a lean-to on the ¾ mile loop trail located on the property. Whiteface Mountain Ski Center or Mount Pisgah are both just a short drive away and the surrounding area hold all kinds of natural attractions and activities to include hiking, fishing golf, skating, cross country skiing, sledding and so much more…. Guests find themselves returning again and again to Camp Okarie to experience what each season has to offer visitors to the area while staying in this ideal peaceful setting within the heart of the Adirondacks! Pets Permitted: Up to 2 well-trained dogs are permitted with prior approval.  Guest is required to clean up all dog waste.  Dogs are not permitted on furniture and must be crated when left alone.  Dogs are the only pets considered. What Awaits You: Register for the Saranac Lake 6er Hiking Challenge to earn a coveted 6er patch and ring the traditional 6er bell! Experience hikes with varied ranges of difficulty that start and end from the 6er Bell in Berkeley Green Park to Mount Baker at 1.8 miles and move on to surrounding areas to climb McKenzie at 10 miles, Ampersand at 5.4 miles,  Scarface at 6.8 miles, Haystack at 6.6 miles and St. Regis at 6.6 miles. Some people stretch hikes out to months or years and the more adventurous aim to become a winter 6er or complete all hikes in 24 hours to become an Ultra 6er! Jackrabbit Ski Trail presents visitors with  34 miles of groomed cross country/hiking trails that begin in Keene and pass through Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Paul Smiths offering all day ski trips with plenty of entry/exit opportunities along the way. Visitors will enjoy unlimited, multi-use and free year round access to the Rail Trail, which consists of a 34 mile corridor between Lake Placid, Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake with the choice of several access points. Hikers, bikers, snowmobilers and cross country skiers experience breathtaking and up close views of nature and many waterways, while also experiencing the charm and amenities of these interconnected communities along the way! Mt. Pisgah Recreation Center with breathtaking mountaintop views offers many outdoor activities including cross country or downhill skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snow tubing, mountain bike trails or walking/hiking trails. 8.7 Miles Away Prescott and Riverfront Parks showcase breathtaking scenery along the Lake Flower shoreline, offer public access to a public Boat Launch in the summer, are home to a weekly outdoor summer market and host the widely popular Winter Carnival Ice Palace and specialized wintertime events. 9.2 Miles Away Lake Colby Beach is a public and sandy swimming beach with volleyball net  or a little sporting fun and a picnic area to allow for visitors to pack a lunch and enjoy a full day of fun in the sun. Most properties do not have air conditioning since the average daily high temperature tends to hover around 75-80 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months. Q.
