Other things to note What to visit nearby • Ronda: one of the most beautiful cities in Andalusia. Its bridge (Puente Nuevo) is iconic, built over a deep gorge. The historic center is full of charm, among Moorish palaces, Arab baths and one of the oldest arenas in Spain. • Júzcar: the famous "country of the Smurfs", all painted blue! It was transformed to promote a movie and then kept that way to attract visitors. In addition to the unique color, it is surrounded by trails and nature activities. • Alpandeire, Faraján, Pujerra, Igualeja: other small, very quiet neighboring villages, each with its own old church, square and stories to tell. Perfect for a day trip along the "Route of the White Villages". What's in Cartajima? • Traditional white houses, narrow streets, silence, and spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. • It is surrounded by chestnut trees and forests: in autumn it is beautiful for walks among the warm colors of the leaves. • From here there are several hiking trails: one of the best known leads to Los Riscos de Cartajima, a very particular rock formation, with almost "lunar" landscapes.
