Description

Escape to the Horizon Suite, an oceanfront retreat where all you hear is the sound of the waves. 3 bedrooms, 4 beds, 3.5 bathrooms, mid-century decor, and non-stop ocean views. Two bedrooms upstairs each have their own bathroom, and the third bedroom downstairs has two king beds and its own bathroom. BC Provincial Registration Number: PM157169699 Sechelt STR #20118986 PST and MRDT account number : 1118-6148 GST account number:82036-0238 The space The Horizon Suite occupies the entire upper level and an extra bedroom and bathroom on the lower floor of our Driftwood Beach House. In order to comply with the Provincial and Municipal Short-term Rental laws, we have divided the home into 2 suites; the Horizon Suite (upper - 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths) and the Breakwater Suite (lower - 2 bedroom, 2 bath). The Horizon Suite is a short-term rental unit and the Breakwater Suite is occupied long-term by our host tenant, which is required by the Sechelt Short-term Rental bylaws. Each suite is legal, has its own heating, plumbing, hot water and electrical with sound barriers. They are separated by a secured lock-off between the suites. Guests staying in the Horizon Suite have exclusive use of the living room, dining room, kitchen, and the 3 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, the laundry room, the upper deck, the fire table, the barbecue and the waterfront amenities (firepit, chairs and chaise lounges by the water's edge). There are no shared areas with the tenant except the driveway, parking and the walkway to the tenant's suite. The tenant has their own patio for their own separate use. Set at the end of a private 200-foot driveway with 100 feet of south-facing waterfront, the Horizon Suite is one of the Sunshine Coast’s rare oceanfront properties with no highway noise—just peace, nature, and ocean air. Watch sea otters, seals, bald eagles, and whales from the enormous glass-front deck or stroll down to your own rocky Pacific Northwest beach to go kayaking or paddleboarding (we do not supply any sports equipment). As evening falls, gather by the firepit and take in a breathtaking Sunshine Coast sunset. Outdoor adventures are endless: hiking, cycling, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming in the summer and snowshoeing or cross-country skiing at Dakota Ridge, in the winter. The town of Sechelt is an easy 5-minute drive for restaurants, shops, and essentials. What's included: bathroom towels, linens, kitchen linens, cleaning supplies, paper towels, garbage bags, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, iron, ironing board, laundry soap & blow dryers. Guest access Guests have access to the entire Horizon Suite which is a legal, separate suite in the Driftwood Beach House. The Horizon Suite has 2 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms on the upper floor as well as one large bedroom and a bathroom on the lower floor. The entire upper floor has expansive windows and incredible south-facing views of the Pacific Ocean from the kitchen, living room, dining area, master bedroom and 700 square foot deck. All utility and storage rooms are locked and not accessible to guests. Guests have access to the garage solely for garbage and recycling purposes. Guests of the Horizon Suite have exclusive use of all outdoor areas, including the deck, firepit, and barbecue and the amenities at thewater's edge (firepit, lounge chairs, chaise lounges). Other things to note We recommend all travelers purchase cancelation insurance. Water Conservation Notice: Please be advised that Sechelt has a severe water shortage year round, but especially during summer months. We ask guests to be mindful of their water usage, and check current restrictions online at The Sunshine Coast Regional District Website. Fire Notice: It is common for Sechelt to experience droughts in the summer, and extensive fire bans. Please ensure there is no fire ban in effect before starting a campfire by checking the BC government website on fire bans. Never leave the fire unattended and that all embers have been extinguished before leaving the fire. Please see section titled "Additional Rules" listed under "House Rules". We require all guests to sign a rental contract that is provided after booking. The details of it are listed on our listing. We specialise in hosting family and multigenerational getaways. Guests of all ages are welcome when travelling with parents or grandparents. We are unable to accommodate bookings made up exclusively of guests under 30 years old. No additional persons are allowed at the property other than those listed in the rental contract. This is not a party house. The Horizon Suite is located in a quiet residential neighborhood where most people sleep with their windows open to capture the wonderful sounds of the ocean. It is imperative that guests respect our neighbors and make no noise after 10pm. Guests are required to leave the kitchen clean as they found it, to wash and dry all beach towels before their departure. These tasks are not included in the cleaning fee. Charges will apply for guests who do not abide by these rules. If guests leave any items at the property, there is a $100 fee plus shipping to return any items. We have to pay our property managers to ship packages and the cost is exorbitant; we cannot absorb it. All fees, taxes and rules are subject to change at any time, even after booking. All prices are set in $CDN but may appear in your country's currency in your quote. We are constructing a cabin near the road on the upper portion of the property; it will be on weekdays and standard construction hours. Because the Horizon Suite is located close to the water while the cabin site is near the road, we do not expect much disruption; however, guests may still experience some construction noise. This listing was previously for our whole Driftwood Beach House (6 bedrooms, slept 14) but we had to undergo significant renovations in 2025 to divide the house into 2 suites after the Province of BC radically changed their short-term rental laws.
