Enjoy a spacious living room, a large ocean-view deck, and everything you need for a perfect getaway Outdoor living is effortless with a natural gas firepit, Broil-King barbecue with a searing grill, and two infrared patio heaters for year-round enjoyment. Inside, a fully equipped kitchen awaits, complete with a blender, food processor, slow cooker, microwave, mixer, and every pot and pan you could need for family dinners or sunset happy hours. Suite Setup: The Horizon Suite occupies the entire upper level of the home. It is a completely private, self-contained suite with its own entrance and is securely locked off from the lower level. Guests have full and exclusive access to the top floor, all outdoor spaces, and amenities. There is a long-term renter in the separate lower suite, as required under District of Sechelt bylaws and Provincial Short-Term Rental regulations. The tenant serves as the local operator and does not share any guest areas. Set at the end of a private 200-foot driveway with 100 feet of south-facing waterfront, the Horizon Suite is one of the Sunshine Coast’s rare oceanfront properties with no highway noise—just peace, nature, and ocean air. Watch sea otters, seals, bald eagles, and even the occasional orca from the enormous glass-front deck or stroll down to your own rocky Pacific Northwest beach to launch a kayak or paddleboard. As evening falls, gather by the firepit and take in a breathtaking Sunshine Coast sunset. Outdoor adventures are endless: hiking, cycling, kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and snowshoeing or cross-country skiing at Dakota Ridge, just 45 minutes away. Town is an easy 5-minute drive for restaurants, shops, and essentials. The Horizon Suite is not a party house. It's located in a quiet residential neighbourhood where the noise levels are to be kept to reasonable levels at all times. There is no outside noise after 10pm. BC Provincial Registration Number: PM157169699 Sechelt STR #20118986 PST and MRDT account number : 1118-6148 GST account number:820360238 Guest access Guests have access to the entire main floor of the home, which includes two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom, as well as all common areas such as the kitchen, living room, dining area, and ocean-view deck. The suite also contains 1 bedroom and bathroom on the main level connected to the upstairs by a stairwell inside the house. The lower-level bedroom has two king beds and a full private bathroom. The rest of the lower level is a completely separate, self-contained suite that is locked off on both sides and occupied by a long-term renter. This suite is not part of the short-term rental. All utility and storage rooms are locked and not accessible to guests. Guests have access to the garage solely for garbage and recycling purposes. Guests have full and private use of all outdoor areas, including the deck, firepit, and barbecue. Other things to note We recommend all travelers purchase cancelation insurance. Water Conservation Notice: Please be advised that Sechelt has a severe water shortage year round, but especially during summer months. We ask guests to be mindful of their water usage, and check current restrictions online at The Sunshine Coast Regional District Website. Fire Notice: It is common for Sechelt to experience droughts in the summer, and extensive fire bans. Please ensure there is no fire ban in effect before starting a campfire by checking the BC government website on fire bans. Never leave the fire unattended and that all embers have been extinguished before leaving the fire. Please see section titled "Additional Rules" listed under "House Rules". We require all guests to sign a rental contract that is provided after booking. The details of it are listed on our listing. We have a minimum age of 30 years for all guests in the rental party except for children travelling with parents. No additional persons are allowed at the property other than those listed in the rental contract. This is not a party house. The Horizon Suite is located in a quiet residential neighborhood where most people sleep with their windows open to capture the wonderful sounds of the ocean. It is imperative that guests respect our neighbors and make no noise after 10pm. Guests are required to leave the kitchen clean as they found it, to wash and dry all beach and hot tub towels before their departure. These tasks are not included in the cleaning fee. Charges will apply for guests who do not abide by these rules. If guests leave any items at the property, there is a $100 fee plus shipping to return any items. We have to pay our property managers to ship packages and the cost is exorbitant; we cannot absorb it. All fees, taxes and rules are subject to change at any time, even after booking. All prices are set in $CDN but may appear in your country's currency in your quote. We anticipate constructing a cabin on the upper portion of the property near the road. This future cabin is currently in the permitting stage. Construction is expected in the Summer of 2026, typically on weekdays during standard construction hours. The Horizon Suite is located closer to the water and the cabin site is near the road, but guests may still experience construction noise. The home was previously operated as a full-house rental called “The Driftwood Beach House,” accommodating up to 12 guests. Due to recent changes in British Columbia’s short-term rental laws, the property has been reconfigured into two suites. The Horizon Suite now includes two upstairs bedrooms and one lower-level bedroom, for a total of three bedrooms, four beds, and 3.5 bathrooms.
