Cotleigh Farmhouse is a spacious historic 4-bed farmhouse, sleeping up to 8 adults and 2 children, with breathtaking views over Dorset’s most spectacular rewilding project. Bookings with more than 8 adults will not be accepted. The space Coteligh farmhouse is located 1km east of Mapperton House, home to the Earl and Countess of Sandwich. The farmhouse features a master suite with a super king sized bed and en suite bathroom, two more super king sized rooms or twin rooms, and a room with a full size bunkbed. There is also a sofa bed downstairs. Beds are dressed in thick Egyptian cotton with soft duvets and pillows. It is fully equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, and tumble dryer. The main living area has a log burner, which logs are provided for. There is a large screen TV and sound system. The farmhouse has a fibre internet connection with super fast broadband. Outside, a private garden with summer dining and a firepit provides the perfect setting for long evenings under open skies. The firepit also comes with a BBQ attachment. Please note that access to Mapperton Gardens and Wildlands is only available during opening hours, Sunday to Thursday. Mapperton Estate is home to some of the finest country walks in Dorset– full of spectacular views, endowed with history and teeming with wildlife. We have three walking trails of different lengths to choose from, from 1.5 to 2.5 hours long. There are also many stunning walking routes that go beyond the estate. During the open season from March to October we have two natural wild play areas for children which are both free. Other things to note There will be some basic food items ready for your arrival, including a pint of milk, eggs, bread and local wine. The Coach House Cafe on the estate is open Sunday to Thursday (March - October). Offering a selection of homemade cakes, fresh sandwiches, seasonal salads, and hearty soups, alongside freshly brewed coffee, a variety of teas, and other refreshments. There are two local towns for eating, drinking and shopping: Beaminster, a picturesque market town two miles away and Bridport, a larger market town 6 miles away. We are very fortunate to have two outstanding local restaurants in Beaminster, commonly agreed to be among the best in Dorset. Brassica, and The Ollerod.
