This peaceful 1928 mission style home is full of vintage character and charm just waiting to sweep you away. The bright and airy space will make you feel right at home. Watching a sunrise over the Oakland hills from the front porch rocker: priceless LOCATION: The house is in the Dimond District walking distance to Farmer Joe's, Peet's coffee, several banks and many yummy restaurants. The house itself is located on a cul-de-sac street nestled between 2 parks, William Wood Park,the unofficial dog park, gives an unobstructed view of the Oakland hills and the other with a basketball court and baseball field. HOUSE: It is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom split level house; we share the kitchen, and common space. The house has a living room with a fireplace, dining room, nice sized kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and hardwood floors throughout. Overall, this house has amazing natural light and has an open, airy feeling. There is a vegetable garden in the front yard and a quiet Mediterranean style garden retreat in the back yard. The entire yard is fenced in the back, ideal for a small or less active dog. ROOM: It is a furnished large sunny room with 2 windows, wood floors and a large closet. The room is on the second floor with a view of the backyard. Next to the room is a large bathroom. ALTERNATE ROOM: I also occasionally rent out a smaller room for a smaller fee. This room is on the main floor has wood floors, a queen size bed, dresser, closet, and plenty of sunlight. DETAILS: Amenities included: internet, basic cable,never a problem with street parking. Main floor of the house: The kitchen and all dishes and cooking tools, dining room, living room, TV, washer/dryer My interaction with guest really depends on how much I'm working and how much my guests wish to connect. I am happy to swap stories and share my favorite Bay Area hot spots. I also understand when guests wish for quiet and privacy. Oakland is an amazing place to live. The Dimond district is just one of those tucked away neighborhoods that has everything, especially a feeling of community. With in walking distance there are hiking trails, delicious and affordable restaurants, grocery stores, banks, bars, a library, post office, and multiple public parks including one with a pool and tennis courts. In the fall the local businesses organize an Octoberfest street fair and host a community Thanksgiving. AC transit is within walking distance. BART is about 1.5 miles from the house. Plenty of street parking.
