Guests do not have access to the sea can on site. It is used for storage and is off limits to guests. Other things to note Septic & Well Information: Our cottage is supported by a well and septic system, both of which have been thoroughly tested, professionally inspected, and are in excellent working order. The well provides clean and safe water, though guests who aren’t used to well water may notice a difference in taste — if you prefer, you’re welcome to bring bottled water for drinking. To keep our septic system running smoothly, we kindly ask that only toilet paper be flushed. Please dispose of all other items — including tissues, Kleenex, baby wipes, and hygiene products — in the waste bins provided. Thank you for helping us keep the cottage comfortable and running perfectly for everyone! Coffee: We’re happy to supply The Little Lodge with some Keurig pods for your enjoyment during your stay. If you run out, you can purchase more at the Wentworth’s Market, located just 5 minutes away. Child/Baby Gear: Our cottage comes with access to some gear to help make your stay with little ones more comfortable. We have two pack n plays with additional mattresses, a baby monitor, baby gates at the top and bottom of the stairs, toddler cups, plates & cutlery, a sound machine, and room darkening curtains in the bedrooms. If you are bringing children, feel free to message us with any questions! Happy to do whatever we can to lighten the load - travelling with kids is no joke (but so worth it!) Spring and Summer Considerations: At The Little Lodge, you can expect a true nature escape. With that comes the full outdoor experience — including local wildlife and sometimes insects (which may include black flies, mosquitos, horse flies, wasps, or other woodland critters). We take proactive steps to treat and maintain the property to help minimize bugs as much as possible; however, due to the rural, forested setting, some encounters are inevitable. We encourage guests to come prepared with bug spray during the warmer months! In addition, our dock is a great spot for launching into the water — perfect for getting in and out of kayaks, canoe, or SUP and enjoying the peaceful surroundings of the cove. Because we are located in a sheltered, shallow area, the water off the dock is not suitable for diving or jumping. Guests are welcome to swim, but please note that the shoreline can be shallow and, depending on the time of year, you may encounter natural vegetation such as lily pads and weeds. For a more enjoyable swim, we recommend paddling out a little further from the dock to deeper, clearer water before jumping in. It’s all part of the natural charm of cottage life on the lake!
