Climb a spiral stairway to the Treetop Studio! Enjoy your morning coffee on the deck as the sun rises over Burdoin Mountain. Full of light, airy yet cozy, this backyard studio comes with a full size bed, small kitchenette, full bathroom, TV (no cable--used with internet or DVD), leather couch and AC. Walk 1-3 blocks to the public park, tennis courts and downtown White Salmon with its bakeries, fantastic book store, brewery and excellent restaurants. Perfect for one or two guests. The studio is one very large room with plenty of windows and a set of french doors, and a full bathroom. French doors on the east wall and windows on all other sides of the building let in lots of light and look out into the surrounding treetops. The unique shape of the roof line creates a cozy feel to the room. We have a pool table in the middle of the room that is normally covered and protected so you can use it as a large table area. The Studio is located in our backyard, with its own access and parking. You'll have access to the whole upstairs and deck, and there's a patio downstairs that you are welcome to use. We'll also share our gas grill if you're interested in cooking a meal outside. If you'd like to use the pool table we ask for an additional refundable deposit of $500 in advance. Please let us know if you are interested when you book, otherwise we'll keep it covered for protection and you can use it as a table for your luggage or whatever. We are usually available to help our guests, and happy to orient you to White Salmon and the Gorge. If we're not at home, we will make sure there is a local contact if you need anything. Our place is in a beautiful part of White Salmon. From your deck you'll have a glimpse of the Columbia River through the trees. Directly behind our place is the forested slope of Strawberry Mountain. You can walk up and over this old volcano on residential streets, partially through the woods. Across the street from us are the city tennis courts--4 of them that almost always have availability. They're located in the City Park, which has great views of Mt Hood from the grassy slopes. A block away from the studio is the public park and green space, and a three or four block walk puts you in downtown White Salmon where you can get fresh bread baked daily in a wood-fired oven, healthy breakfast and lunch foods, good coffee, a locally brewed ale, or a fantastic dinner. White Salmon also has an awesome bookstore you may want to browse. There are also miles and miles of trails for hiking, biking and running, all within a 10-minute walk of the studio Public transportation is sketchy in the Columbia Gorge. We do have the name of a cab company in the studio, which has private parking just off Lincoln avenue. Our studio is perfect for one or two adult guests. We are willing to consider one additional child, with prior notice.
