Restaurants and stores less than a block from our apartment. This two bedroom two bath apartment is newly constructed. Enjoy beautiful views from the rooftop terrace or extra larger living room windows. The apartment has an open floor plan with modern appliances. Expect a modern apartment with old country charm when you step into this unit. The floors may be porcelain tile and the American bar may provide a modern look but the building is set in a historic part of Medellin. Conveniently located close to the stadium, restaurants and shopping malls. The sports complex (sometimes called the stadium) is a great place with swimming pools, soccer fields, tennis courts and a gym that visitors may use for a nominal fee. This apartment will provide a great cultural experience and opportunity to practice Spanish if needed. Located in a typicall upper-middle class Medellin neighborhood there is a certain atmosphere that can't be found in the touristy El Poblado area. Buy avocados and vegetables from the street vendors as they pass by in front of the apartment, they are inexpensive and fresh! If you choose you can also walk one block to the Exito market, a more modern method of purchasing groceries. The refridgerator and freezer in the unit is brand new and provides plenty of storage for your food purchases. During construction care was taken to preserve the typical Medellin construction and apartment layout. What is different about this apartment is the rooftop terrace which is constructed to be used as a social area for guests. A large hanging umbrella, lounge chairs and plants have been placed on the terrace to make it a perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the surrounding city and mountain views. I personally enjoy the view of the city lights which extend into the surrounding mountains at night. I love this safe neighborhood because it is away from the touristy El Poblado but still close enough to take a taxi there. The neighborhood is very alive with friendly people and shops and restaurants. Everything is located so close by and a lot can be done by walking less than 2 blocks. I also love that the Estadio Metro station is 2 blocks away from the apartment. One bedroom has air conditioning in this unit. Air conditioning is not often needed in Medellin but note that the entire apartment does not have air conditioning but we do provide fans in every room.
