This American Craftsman style home is an eclectic mix of vintage antique, cozy cottage, & hunting retreat. This two-story house offers lots of common space for small groups, but is limited by a single 2nd floor bathroom. The grounds are private and hidden by a tall hedge. The yard is peppered with wildflower gardens. The accommodation is tucked 4 blocks off a main highway in a quiet neighborhood. Perfect for those looking for alternative accommodation than being directly in the tourist zones. This classic Craftsman home is perfect for a family of 4-6, spacious for 2, and snug for 10. Having one bathroom may make it undesirable for friend groups who are booking, please consider this before making your reservation. We are also located just outside the tourist zones in a quiet neighborhood. We want every guest to feel that our accommodation is of good value and not to feel any disappointment upon arrival. If you feel any item may be a an issue, please consider an alternative Airbnb. The main floor has a TV with a DVD and Roku, we have numerous board and party games available for use. During the summer months yard games (Bean bags/Croquet) are available. The porch has a picnic table for covered outdoor eating as well as a sitting area. The shared patio has seating for 10 and a grill available for use. The African themed home has numerous animal mounts. See photos, there are 6 mounts in the common areas of the house (not bedrooms) and may be disconcerting for some. Please alert all guests in your reservation about this. The house has two living spaces. The Airbnb space is exclusive and includes the main floor, second floor, & porch, with access to the shared patio and shared yard. The basement is a private host apartment that is not rented to the public. The Garage Access is available for an additional $20 charge. Pack layers! The neighborhood is often cooler than the surrounding areas, even in the summer, due to the naturally cool breeze off nearby Lake Superior. Routine lawn and garden maintenance may occur during stay. The basement apartment is private for the hosts when they are in town. It is not rented to the public. I am open to as little or as much interaction as desired. The house is in a residential neighborhood. It is 6 blocks from Central Park which has a playground and disc golf course. The house is 8 blocks from Barker's Island which has a public beach, docks, mini-golf, and the Osage Trail. A grocery store, Super One, is located 5 mins away. We have 4 off-street parking spots in front of the garage. There is a local bus stop 1/2 block from house. Warning: as an avid outdoors person and bow hunter there are hunting related decor items including animal mounts. Please alert all people in your reservation of this fact prior to arrival. There is only a single bathroom on the second level with a tub with tall sides. This may be a challenge for some guests with mobility limitations. There is only two TVs, both have a Roku and one a DVD player. Cloth napkins and towels are provided for the kitchen. We do not provide paper towels. There is a railroad track in the neighborhood, periodically there is a slow train that passes through that blows it's horn for safety. That may occur between 8am-5pm.
