The space This serene, privately owned property, nestled in nature with breathtaking views of Colón 235 meters above sea level, Gatun Lake, and the Panama Canal locks. The property features a large uninhabited house, a loft, and a storage building, but the loft is the only space currently inhabited, offering you a peaceful retreat. Due to the elevation, guests will feel like they are not in Panama anymore. While it is only a 50 minute drive from the city, it is a significant change of climate with rain showers daily and chilly nights. Our dedicated caretaker lives in the apartment below the loft to ensure everything runs smoothly and to maintain the property, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy your stay, but you will have 100% privacy. This hidden gem is perfect for nature lovers seeking a tranquil escape, where you can unwind while staying connected to the beauty around you. We have a dog on property that will be put away prior to arrival. The public road that you will take to our property goes through a small village with a road that has many potholes. You do not need 4wd, but you will just need to take it slow. If you are looking for a climate controlled apartment closed off to nature then this is not the place for you. If you are looking to feel like you have escaped to an entirely different climate with rain sounds on our roof at night and winds and fog coming through the loft, then this is the place for you. Guest access Santa Rita Arriba is about 50 minutes from the city, you do not need 4 wheel drive. It is not a perfect road, but with a normal sedan you will be fine. Keep in mind that coming from the city there is a toll road that charges $2.30 each way so you will need to have the cash on you. Other things to note You are welcome to bring a small dog with you! The loft features its own enclosed yard that is completely separate from the rest of the property, giving you and your pet a private and comfortable space to enjoy. Our dog on property will be free to roam the property at night and will be kept away during the day.
