A private wooded loghouse retreat designed for a relaxed, effortless stay. Enjoy a wood-fired soaking tub under the trees and a quiet East Texas escape. Complimentary firewood for both the soaking tub and fire pit, along with a curated welcome board, are prepared for your arrival. Split firewood for the wood-fired soaking tub is provided, along with additional logs for the fire pit. Everything you need to enjoy the experience is ready for you — no extra fees or add-ons required. The space Our rustic log home offers an open-concept, lodge-style layout with soaring ceilings and natural wood throughout. The main floor includes a cozy king bed and spacious living area. The upstairs loft is a bonus space currently under light chinking restoration, but guests are welcome to explore and use the full and twin beds provided. This is a 20 acre property that goes all the way to mud creek at the bridge. This spot is great fishing from small to large fish. My children really enjoy fishing on the creek. This is a handcrafted log home with authentic chinking. Some exterior areas are still being finished as part of ongoing preservation work, but the interior living spaces are fully completed and comfortable. Guest access Guests have full access to the main floor, deck, and surrounding 20-acre property, including the mowed walking trail and outdoor firepit area. The upstairs loft is also open for use, though it’s currently under light chinking restoration. Guests are welcome to explore the property freely, relax indoors, or enjoy all outdoor amenities during their stay. Other things to note Handcrafted Wood-Fired Cedar Hot Tub Our custom, wood-fired cedar hot tub is connected directly to the deck and is perfect for relaxing under the stars. It is custom built and shipped from Sooke, British Columbia. Because the tub is heated by an outdoor wood stove, warming the water takes time. Guests should expect approximately 1.5 hours to bring the water to temperature once the fire is started. If you’d prefer to arrive to a warm, ready-to-use hot tub, we offer an optional preheat add-on where we start the fire in advance of your stay. Just let us know if you’d like to add this service.
