The formal foyer welcomes you with soaring ceilings, warm wood floors, and a generous coat closet to settle in with ease. Just beyond, the library parlor invites quiet moments beneath sun-drenched bay windows—perfect for morning coffee, reading, or sharing imaginative play with little ones using our curated collection of STEM-themed children’s books and toys (as well as some classics). Adjacent, the bright sunroom has been transformed into a fully equipped home office, comfortably accommodating two remote professionals with a full-size desk setup, ergonomic chairs, and a 42" monitor ready for use. ELECTRIC VEHICLE PARKING Electric vehicle drivers take note: Two ChargePoint EV charging stations are located just one block away (approx. 400 feet) for convenient access during your stay. PERFECT FOR FAMILIES, TOO Bassett Place is as welcoming to families as it is to wine country explorers. Our home is set up for a maximum of 6 adults, and has two low-bunk twin beds suitable for 2 children (not suitable for adults). Inside, children will find a curated collection of classic and STEM-themed books, along with imaginative toys for quiet play. Optional step stools for sinks and toilets are available, and the spacious backyard is ideal for open-air fun—with Tonka trucks, sports toys, and plenty of room to roam. Several beloved local parks are just minutes away, making it easy to keep little ones engaged and active throughout your stay. PLEASE NOTE Bassett Place offers central air conditioning upstairs only. Additionally, we are happy to provide fans for each bedroom upon request. Petaluma Permit Number: PLVR-2025-0004 Guest access ACCESSING BASSETT PLACE After checking in with your concierge, you will be assigned a 4-digit code to access the home. This code will be set to expire at the on the day of your departure at your checkout time. Fernanda will be there to ensure a smooth and timely departure. USE OF BASSETT PLACE The entirety of our home is included in your stay, including the use of our back yard. Our detached garage and driveway are private, and access is not included in the stay. All entrances have video monitoring for accurate guest count and compliance with pet policy. GUEST & VISITOR POLICY Maximum occupancy is 10 guests (6 adults maximum, up to 4 children). Only registered guests are allowed on-site unless approved in advance. All guests or guests of guests (ie: visitors) must be approved in advance and will need to check in with your concierge. This is a cherished family home and is not suited for events or gatherings beyond the registered guests. Bassett Place is not suitable for events, parties, or group gatherings beyond those listed on the reservation. Unapproved visitors or activities will result in immediate removal without refund. PETS POLICY Bassett Place is our cherished family home, and for health reasons we must maintain a strict no-pets policy. We deeply respect the importance of service animals, but in this case we respectfully ask that guests who require one book alternative accommodations better suited to their needs. Our child has severe allergies, and for this reason, we are unable to host guests with pets or assistance animals of any kind. This also applies to pets visiting with approved visitors. Because Bassett Place is a private residence, service animal regulations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) do not apply. This is supported by ADA Title III, 28 CFR § 36.104, which defines what constitutes a “public accommodation.” As a private home, Bassett Place does not fall under this category. Airbnb has also provided us with a written exemption recognizing this policy. Any violation of this policy will result in early termination of the reservation without refund and a full sterilization cleaning fee. Other things to note AIR CONDITIONING (UPSTAIRS ONLY) Petaluma cools down nicely in the evenings thanks to our coastal location, and ocean breezes help keep the home naturally comfortable, particularly on the first floor (light jackets are often welcome at night). Because of this, the downstairs remains cool without the need for air conditioning. For added comfort during warmer days, air conditioning is provided in the upstairs bedrooms. Please feel free to reach out with any questions, concerns, or accommodation requests — we’re always happy to help ensure a comfortable stay. HEATING Our home features dual-zone heating for the cooler months, with smart thermostats that allow us to maintain a comfortable temperature in each area while ensuring the systems operate efficiently. CLEANLINESS & MAINTENANCE Bassett Place is professionally cleaned and prepared between each stay to the highest hospitality standards. Our concierge ensures that every room is spotless and guest-ready, with fresh linens, fully sanitized surfaces, and carefully maintained systems throughout the home. All appliances and systems are professionally maintained and tested between stays. Please notify us immediately if anything isn’t functioning properly so we can address it in real time. We conduct a full physical and photo audit and inventory between each guest to insure the integrity of your experience as guests and ours as hosts. While this is a historic property, it is also meticulously maintained. In the rare event that something needs attention during your stay, our concierge team is available to promptly assist and ensure your comfort is uninterrupted. DAILY CLEANING Daily cleaning of Bassett Place during your stay is available for an additional fee. Please inquire before booking. HISTORIC CHARM & WINDOW NOTES As our home is quite old, several windows in the formal living room and dining room have been sealed shut to preserve the integrity of the antique window frames and wavy glass panes. While these particular windows are non-operational, the rest of the home offers ample ventilation and natural light, with fully functional windows and doors that open to the gardens and porches. Old homes can be 'quirky' - it's part of their inherent charm. We hope you enjoy getting to know our home's idiosyncrasies, which she has earned through her age and storied past. FIREPLACE Our wood burning fireplace in the formal living room is NON-FUNCTIONAL and strictly decorative. It is not to be used under any circumstances. Do not attempt to light a fire, place flammable materials inside, or alter the fireplace in any way. Any use of the fireplace is strictly prohibited and may result in damage, risk of injury, and immediate termination of your stay. Guests assume full liability for any misuse and fees will be assessed for damages. SMOKING POLICY Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property, indoors or out. Any violation will result in immediate removal and a cleaning fee. CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT Please note that checkout times may not always be flexible due to the scheduling constraints of cleaners and other guests. Early check-in or late check-out must be arranged in advance and is not guaranteed. Please inquire prior to booking so we can confirm availability. Thank you for your understanding. ON-SITE SECURITY SYSTEM For security and guest compliance, exterior entry points are monitored via video. There are no interior cameras.
