This is our home, shop, Guatemalan cultural workshop, chocolate factory, all in one - just 30min from Antigua. You will be staying on the second floor where you can see the Fuego and Acatenango volcanos right from the window. If you like, we'll show you how our products are made and also our original presentation (powerpoint or video) about the culture of the village for free, as we are local tour guides too. Normally only Spanish is spoken here, so be prepared! The space Our building has 5 rooms and yours is on the 2nd floor with the best view of the volcanos, which includes a private bathroom, hot shower, WiFi, TV, guitar, keyboard, books and balcony to dry your clothes. Next to the main building there is a shared space where our shop, kitchen and garden are located. You are welcome to use the kitchen and explore our products and little garden. Our place is near the hiking trail of the village and generally quite calm, peaceful and safe. Actually it is one of the safest villages in Guatemala and we haven't had any problem walking around at night. You can buy groceries at a shop almost next to our building, or 10min walk to the bodegona supermarket. Fun fact: Our building was a semi-abandoned love hotel sometime ago and we have been improving it for our project. It is locally known as La Casa Encantada (The Haunted House), ask us why! We are a family project creating and innovating handmade Guatemalan products, including chocolate, vanilla beans, chili peppers, ... most of them are made right inside the same building. Guest access You have access to the open cabin (kitchen, garden and shop) and laundry room besides your private room. Ask us if you want to have a look at our factory or workshop. Other things to note We have 2 chihuahua-sized dogs and 2 ex-stray cats. All of them are quite friendly and you are free to play with them. We recommend you to close all the doors of your room when you leave, so the cats won't enter and sleep on your bed!
