Description
Get some altitude by discovering our gîte "Aux Cabris Fringants" located in a small private hamlet, isolated and bucolic, on the heights of Faucogney. In the wild and preserved environment of the region of 1000 ponds, you will have a renovated farmhouse with natural materials in a style that respects its authenticity. The adjoining garden will give you the opportunity to get to know our 4 dwarf goats (very sociable) and our 3 geese. Linens and towels are provided. The space Located in the south of the Vosges Mountains, in Haute Saône, between Epinal and Belfort (within the Ballons des Vosges Regional Natural Park), at: - 1.5 hours from Besançon, Nancy and Mulhouse - 2 hours from Basel and Dijon - less than 5 hours from Paris, Brussels and Frankfurt The picturesque farmhouse where the cottage is located, adjoining our home, dates back to at least the 18th century. It covers about 75 m² and three levels. On the ground floor: - an entrance/kitchen - a living/dining room with two sofas, one of which is a sofa bed On the 1st floor: - a bright mezzanine/relaxation area with a hanging net and views of nature and the goat park. - a master bedroom with a double bed and a baby bed. - a bathroom with toilet On the 2nd floor: - an attic bedroom with 2 modular single beds (can be put side by side). Outside: - a small adjoining private parking lot (additional spaces available nearby) - a private and clearly delimited garden offering the possibility to relax outdoors, to pet our dwarf goats or to light a campfire. Facilities/amenities available on site: all kitchen necessities, dishes, toaster, microwave, 4-burner gas stove, electric oven, fridge/freezer, blender, filter coffee maker, melting machine, kettle, hairdryer, Wi-Fi access, smoke/carbon monoxide detectors, baby equipment (highchair, bathtub, toilet booster, crib, stair protection, baby dishes), fan, IGN maps, etc. Equipment/amenities available on request (free): raclette machine, plancha, charcoal barbecue, ironing board/iron, umbrella bed, booster chair, fire barrier, clothes drying rack, possibility of storing sports equipment in our barn, etc. Guest access The cottage is located in a completely independent farmhouse, adjoining our main farm. This building is exclusively reserved for the public, as is the adjoining garden, which consists of two plots, one of which is adjacent to the dwarf goat/goose park. Some common areas are accessible from the grounds of the cottage, including the outdoor animal parks (goats/geese, chickens/ducks and, only outside the cold period: dwarf rabbit park) or the outbuilding (recovery of logs and small wood). The areas near our home are not intended for public reception (see map on site) Other things to note The geographical location of this cottage is ideal insofar as it is both close to all amenities but at an altitude of 500 m, surrounded by nature, in a quiet, preserved and wild environment (as evidenced by the prestigious "Natura 2000" label awarded to our residential area, in addition to its membership in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park). 5 minutes from Faucogney (bakery, supermarket, ATM, pharmacy, electric terminal, restaurant, bar, butcher, market, playground, tourist office, etc.). 10 minutes from Raddon (gas station, tobacconist, etc...). 20 minutes from Luxeuil-les-Bains (supermarket including organic, farmers' store, all shops, etc.). Located on the edge of a small municipal road, it offers the opportunity to reach multiple walking paths, either directly on foot (about twenty ponds accessible nearby, beautiful deciduous and spruce forests, many period Comtoise farms) or after a few minutes by car. The gite is located on the edge of a small communal road. Traffic is limited, but not non-existent, and therefore may cause a slight noise disturbance. Similarly, animals are present in our locality and sometimes cause slight noise disturbances (songs, bangings, etc...). For your information, the accommodation is heated mainly with wood that we make available for free. The wood-burning stove, which has a central position in the home, allows you to diffuse the heat down the floors. A wall ventilation in the living room allows, via remote control, to bring warm air from the neighboring hearth. In addition, a wall-mounted electric heater is available in the bathroom. Finally, we point out that we have sought to preserve as much as possible the authenticity of the farmhouse. Thus, we chose to keep the original kitchen floor which is composed of centuries-old sandstone slabs. Even though we regularly leach it, some traces remain indelible there. They are in no way a sign of lack of hygiene but rather a mark of time showing the rustic character of this dwelling. WINTER CONDITIONS (NOVEMBER to MARCH): IMPORTANT! It is possible to rent our cottage in the cold season, but you must be aware of four particular points: - First, access to the cottage is via a steep, narrow and winding road, which makes the climb in case of snow/ice. For travelers who do not wish to risk a last-minute cancellation due to difficult weather conditions, suitable equipment is highly recommended (with snow tires or chains, mandatory in the region from 11/01 to 03/31). As an indication, the days of snow have remained very minor in recent winters. - Secondly, we chose to heat our cottage mainly with a wood-burning stove (stove type). We offer free firewood, from the surrounding forests and that we cut ourselves. It is therefore necessary to know how to light a fire and manage a wood-burning stove (if necessary, we can demonstrate). To complete and in case of extreme cold, two small mobile electric heaters, intended primarily for off-center rooms (living room or master bedroom) are available. They are not intended to heat the accommodation alone and nothing replaces the heat provided by a real stove. - Thirdly, our gîte has insulation that, in order to preserve all its authenticity, has remained basic in some rooms. It is quite habitable in winter because it has an efficient heating system (wood) but is not suitable for people who are too sensitive to the cold. Bring a wool sweater and cozy socks for your comfort. The feeling of well-being caused by the radiance of the wood fire remains unparalleled, especially well installed in the net of the mezzanine that allows you to feel the currents of hot air spreading in the accommodation. - Fourth, like most homes located in (medium) mountains and/or close to the forest, our cottage enjoys limited sunshine when the sun is low (November to February). This does not prevent you from enjoying the experience of an authentic, comfortable and welcoming cottage at a time of year when outdoor temperatures encourage you to stay indoors. The geographical location of our gîte also allows you to enjoy the sun's rays thanks to the many walks in open ground possible from our location. The last comments left on our ad corresponding to stays made this winter testify to the very relative nature of these 4 constraints that we must nevertheless mention.
