The Family Nest, cozy house between land and sea

We imagined this cottage as a lively and welcoming country house. The house combines old-world charm with simple comfort: low ceilings full of character, a cozy atmosphere, a fireplace for cool evenings, and spaces designed for sharing real moments together. Outside, you will enjoy the garden and the calm of the surrounding countryside. This is not a “perfect” place. It's a living, renovated house. We prioritize comfort and friendliness. The space 🏡 Welcome to our charming little house full of surprises! We are Claire and Keny, a market gardener couple living on a farm in Huberville, and parents of two lively boys. In addition to growing our vegetables, we wanted to cultivate human contact. It was Claire who launched this beautiful adventure of the vacation rental, to share our world, our little corner of nature... and our aperitifs by the fire☺️ We have refurbished a small house in Saint-Germain-de-Tournebut, with authentic charm and all modern comforts 🛋️ The living room has character: a low ceiling that makes an impression, a fireplace for evenings by the fire (wood on request), a rocking chair for relaxing, books to browse through, and even a dartboard for family challenges. All of this opens onto a fully equipped kitchen (oven, hob, fridge, microwave, dishes, etc.). Ideal for preparing good meals just like at home (or almost, because you're on vacation after all!). 🛏️ Sleeping area: • A bedroom on the ground floor with a double bed (140x190), a small dressing room, a dressing table and a floor that has seen better days... but that's still standing, I promise! • Upstairs, a landing with a sofa bed (perfect for a child or a teenager, sheets provided on request), and a second bedroom full of light, also with a double bed (140 x 190). Bed linen and towels are provided free of charge 😉 🛁 Bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. 👶 Pack 'n play available for little travelers, and some games to keep the kids busy. Free Wi-Fi access. No cleaning fee is charged, but the house is provided clean and should be returned that way. If you want a cleaning fee, it's available. Just ask me. 😉 🌳 Outside, there is a large 500 m² south-facing garden – in other words, the sun likes to make its home there. There is a petanque court, a small terrace, a table and a barbecue for outdoor meals. The garden is still evolving, but it is already ready to host good times. A simple, lively and welcoming house, where you immediately feel at home. House in the heart of Cotentin, ideally located to visit our region: The landing beaches, Barfleur: ranked among the most beautiful villages in France with their unmissable tasting of mussels and fries by the port, the Nez de Jobourg (ideal for hiking enthusiasts), Barneville-Carteret, the seaside resort renowned for its fine sand, Tatihou Island, a little paradise located off the coast of Saint-Vaast-la-Hougue... In St Germain de Tournebut, you will find a small children's play area 500 m from the house, a wildlife park 7 km away, and the stables of the train station (for rides) 4 km away. You are 7 km from local shops. Many local markets during the week. In short, a rich and surprising region.
