Come to beautiful Vilano Beach, Florida. An enchanted, old Florida vintage feel of a beach, where relaxing is the name of the game. Enjoy my private entry, key-code entry cottage with lush garden carved from the lower floor of my beach home with single off-street parking space. The cottage offers a u-shape unit with wicker room divider for privacy. A queen bedroom, galley kitchenette, shower bathroom and living room with sofa/trundle bed offers spaces to relax and absorb the sea air. The Bohemian Mermaid Cottage is nestled inside my home, one of the originals built in the mid-70's near the mouth of the inlet where the vast Atlantic meets the jetty's protecting its shores. Our precious garden alcoves offer plenty of relaxation space to let your worries drift away in the sea air surrounding you, to enjoy the beautiful garden and foliage or just to sit and relax. A few steps down the sandy road and a walk through the dunes will land you on either Vilano Beach to the East/Ocean side, or to Porpoise Point on the Southwest/Inlet side. Choose a different beach each day! Your room is filled with the colors of the sea, decorated in a palette of azure, turquoise, sandy white and kelly greens. The furnishings are there with comfort in mind. Soft mattresses, comfortable sofa and chairs, plenty of cushions and a true bohemian feel. Kick off your shoes. We offer a private entrance apartment on the lower level of our beach home. Come and go as you please, with your personal keycode access. Plenty of parking in the driveway and along the sandy street in front, should you invite a guest or two. We understand that you are here to enjoy peace, solitude and the beach! Welcome to Vilano Beach! Welcome! Our Bohemian Mermaid Garden Cottage is nestled between sand dunes and ocean breezes in a quiet neighborhood that echoes the ocean’s call. A short distance east , block and a half ( down a sandy path) is the singing Atlantic while a block to the south lies the St. Augustine Inlet so beach lovers can meander along the edge, collect shells and breathe in the fresh sea air. Several restaurants are near by: “Beaches “ ( Vilano’s answer to a Key West atmosphere) is out by the old Vilano Bridge. Known for seafood / salads and drinks—sports bar inside-one can sit by the Intracoastal for hours soaking up the music/ vibes and sunset Also close by on Vilano Road are two Italian restaurants: ‘ 180 “ features excellent Italian cuisine-and “BENEDETTO'S”, both are set in Art Deco revitalized spaces. About five miles north on AIA you can find : THE REEF, ( ocean front) AUNT KATES or CAPS ON THE WATER ( both on the Intracoastal Waterway in North Beach up A1A North). All are fun/ hip/ vividly interesting restaurants featuring delicious unique dishes GROCERIES: Publix Super Market is at the intersection of A1A and the Bridge., or WINN DIXIE is on US1 North. There are two parking spaces cars in my drive or in front of the house and you can store your bikes inside the gated area in the rear of the cottage. (locks not provided) On occasion, the Water Taxi (WAXI) can be caught from the dock at Beaches Restaurant on the island which takes you to the City Marina in the heart of St Augustine . and UBER is a phone call away. From that point, you can walk the historic cobblestone streets, grab a rickshaw or a horse drawn carriage or the numerous bike rentals or mini buzz buzz vehicles available all around town.
