Luxury cottage with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms

With 2 bedrooms AND 2 bathrooms, kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. "Numéro 8" provides completely renovated accommodation, brand new fitted kitchen, reversible air conditioning/heating, wood burning stove for cooler nights and a large dining area and private garden. Just 5 minutes drive from the centre of Oloron-Sainte-Marie, the property also has direct access to a network of cycle/walking tracks if you want to leave the car behind and take in the view of the Pyrenees. The space The house is designed in such a way that it can be a cosy retreat for couples or welcome a family of 5. The bedrooms are split over 2 separate levels so everyone has their own space and the house remains homely and adaptable. The rooms are spacious with a homely touch that we hope you'll enjoy. The property has been renovated carefully and we have tried to mix original features with modern comforts. One bedroom has a queen size bed plus a single bed and will therefore sleep 3 people or perhaps 2 children who want their own space! Each bedroom has access to a separate bathroom which gives a nice feel of privacy for all guests. We provide all bedding and towels to make things as easy as possible for our guests. Please note the house is split over 3 levels, (ground, first and second floor) so there may be more stairs than you are used to if you use the top bedroom! There are so many places to explore nearby, there are 2 river beaches walking distance from the property, perfect places to relax and cool off in the river or perhaps go fishing. There are 2 ski stations, Gourettes and La Pierre Saint Martin that are both under 1 hour 15 minutes away. The beaches on the Atlantic shoreline are around 1 hour 30 minutes and of course the mountains are within sight! If you are bringing bikes then you can very easily cycle into Oloron-Sainte-Marie choose between the main road with a cycle lane or an option of back lanes. For those Tour de France enthusiasts there are some fantastic circuits to choose from and we have 2 tried and tested routes for you. One includes the Col d'Aubisque and the Col du Soulor and the other the Col de Marie Blanque. There is a private garden for guests to use with chairs and sun loungers to relax and enjoy the view over the fields and the horses. There is parking right outside the cottage so no need to carry your suitcases and supplies very far! Please note that during the cooler months there is a wood burner which we provide an initial supply of wood and starter wood which should be enough for 2 nights. Please be aware that you will need to use the fire in the cooler months to boost the temperature. Don't worry if you are not used to wood burners we will provide instructions and a video if you need it and if we are available make sure it is lit for when you arrive. If you need more wood, then we are pleased to provide it and ask guests to pay for it (at the same price that we have). Guest access Guests have access to the whole property, the terrace and garden. We live next door but do not overlook "Numéro 8" so it remains private. There is also a large barn for storing your bikes, skis, paddle board, surf boards etc. Parking is directly in front of the house and there is a small blue parking sign to guide you. Please note that we don't provide electric or hybrid car charging facilities. There is a charging station at Oloron by the Leclerc petrol pumps. Other things to note There is a smart television and you will need to log into your accounts Amazon/Netflix/Canal + etc. Please note we do not have satellite TV but do have excellent wifi ! We provide all bedding and towels to make the stay as easy as possible for our guests. Please note if you have requested a cot there is only a sheet and waterproof mattress protector, and you will need to bring blankets/sleeping bag for your infant. Please note that during the cooler months there is a wood burner which we provide an initial supply of wood and starter wood which should be enough for 2 nights.
