Nestled in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, our property offers the best of both worlds: serene, nature-filled surroundings with the luxury of being just moments away from local amenities and exciting attractions. Imagine waking up to the gentle sounds of birds chirping and horses grazing in the fields, with the occasional duck waddling by. Our home, which we’ve lovingly designed and built ourselves, sits surrounded by stunning countryside views, offering a peaceful and private escape. Whether you’re here for relaxation or adventure, you’ll find everything you need to unwind and enjoy your stay. The Acorn - Your Private Countryside Retreat Your accommodation, The Acorn, is a cozy and well-equipped studio apartment above our garage, with its own private entrance, ensuring you enjoy complete privacy during your stay. Overlooking our tranquil garden and countryside, The Acorn is the perfect retreat after a day of exploration. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to feel at home: We provide tea, coffee, and fresh milk, so you can enjoy a warm drink as soon as you arrive. There is also a microwave, crockery and cutlery for your convenience. An eco-friendly bathroom with luxurious shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Calming living, designed with comfort and relaxation in mind, allowing you to put your feet up and unwind. The Surroundings To the back of the house, the River Nene provides a scenic walking path, offering the perfect opportunity for a peaceful stroll in nature. The adjacent field, home to two friendly horses, is a fantastic spot to enjoy the local wildlife, from foxes to pheasants and everything in between. We’re delighted to have recently welcomed a new member to our family—our puppy, Oakley! During your stay, you may spot him happily exploring the gardens. As our home sits in the middle of the grounds, Oakley has the freedom to roam wherever he pleases. He’s a friendly, curious little pup who loves meeting new people, and we’re helping him become well socialised as he grows. While he may wander over to say hello, we completely understand that not everyone is comfortable around dogs. If you’d prefer for Oakley not to approach you, please just let us know—we’ll be happy to make sure everyone, both two-legged and four-legged feel welcomed. With access to two private parking spaces and the peaceful setting of the countryside, you’ll feel completely immersed in nature, yet close enough to everything you need. Local Amenities & Dining A mere two-minute walk away, you’ll find a welcoming local pub where you can enjoy delicious homemade pies on Tuesdays and a tasty curry on Wednesdays. If you’re in the mood for a cozy night in, there’s a variety of food delivery options to enjoy in the comfort of The Acorn. On Fridays we have a fish and chip van visiting right outside our door! The village also offers two other great dining options, each with a fantastic menu. You’ll find all the details in the guestbook, with local recommendations for every taste. The local shop is extremely well stocked with everything from fresh bread and pastries to wines and beers. There is a post office within and is collection point for many couriers. While you’ll enjoy the peace of the countryside, you’re never far from city amenities. Northampton train station is just 10 minutes away, and Milton Keynes Central is a 30-minute drive, offering quick connections to London and the Midlands. Silverstone Circuit, host of the British Grand Prix, is only 25 miles away – perfect for motorsport enthusiasts!
