Description
The Stables is a tasteful, recently converted former stables and open barn that was built in 1979 on the site of the original 1850 Victorian Coach house, that was demolished in 1960. Situated within the grounds of our home “Hamiltons”, a former Victorian vicarage. Positioned at the top of “Jack and Jill” hill, this private, self contained accommodation has wonderful views out over the garden and across the valley to the village of Kilmersdon and the woods of Babington House beyond. The space Superb location within reach of many of Somerset's finest pubs, restaurants and landmarks to explore. Many exquisite walks and great cycling. There is direct access in the village to the 'Colliers Way', National Cycle Network Route 24. Babington House is only a 5 minute drive or a 20 minute walk through the woods. The village of Mells with it’s award winning pub, 'The Talbot', is only a 10 minute drive. Frome and its eclectic shops and markets is only a 15 min. drive. The heritage city of Bath and the historic city of Wells are both a 20 min. drive. Bruton is 25 mins away. We are also 5 min. drive to Vobster Quarry for open water swimming and diving. 💥GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL💥 site is within a 25 min drive. Guest access Spacious warm and cosy rooms, vaulted beamed ceilings and loads of natural light, within an original timber clad, well insulted building that features a modern log burning stove (initial supply of logs supplied), underfloor heating in the bathroom and vintage, fully restored Victorian cast iron radiators all fed by a dedicated boiler. Very well equipped kitchen with induction hob and dual oven, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher & washing machine. De Longhi coffee pod machine (Nespresso style pods) and Milk Frother. A minimum supply of pods is supplied, if you drink a lot of coffee you'll need to bring more! All necessary basic kitchen supplies provided except foods that go off (i.e. Milk, bread, eggs etc.) Filtered drinking water tap. The comfortable bedroom has a vintage French King size bed (150x190cm) and large wardrobe, along with a work/writing desk. The en-suite bathroom has a walk-in shower, bath, vintage French wash basin and a Victorian clothes drying rack. A spacious open plan living area and kitchen with double doors leading to your own terrace, with garden furniture & fire pit, where one can watch buzzards and red kites soaring overhead. Fast Fibre Optic Broadband 50-100Mbs and 43”HDTV with Amazon fire stick and DVD player. Cards, games and a small library of Books and DVDs for your entertainment on rainy days! Cotton Linen & Towels are provided. Pet supplies basket with treats, food & water bowls, poo bags, spare lead and blankets to put on the furniture. Space for one baby at no charge. Travel cot provided, please bring your own baby bedding. With prior arrangement guests have use of a wood fired eco Sauna pod in the garden, with cold tub and outdoor shower. If using Sauna additional charge of £10 per usage for kindling & wood. Private parking with secure electric gates and a 32A EV charger available by prior arrangement, with additional charge of £15.00 per usage. Other things to note We have a friendly dog, that is free to roam the garden. We are also happy for you to bring your friendly pooch free of charge by prior arrangement. Access to a gas fired BBQ is also available. Travel cot available on request.
