Contact me directly The space About the Space: Welcome to Palace Barn Cottage, a cosy, characterful retreat tucked away in the sleepy hamlet of Hopesay, nestled within the glorious Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This delightful 200-year-old cottage offers a peaceful escape for couples or solo travellers looking to unwind, reconnect with nature, and soak in the charm of rural England. Stylishly furnished and thoughtfully equipped, Palace Barn Cottage is the perfect “home away from home”, whether you’re here for walking, cycling, birdwatching, or simply a restful break. With breathtaking views, wonderful walks from the doorstep, and a setting of complete privacy and calm, it’s a little gem waiting to be discovered. Set at the end of a woodland track with no neighboring properties in view and stunning vistas of pastures and distant hills, it feels like your own little world of peace and privacy. Inside, you’ll find: A warm and inviting sitting room with two cosy two-seater sofas, a dining table for two, and a toasty log burner, perfect for curling up with a book on chilly evenings. A fully equipped kitchen featuring an induction hob, built-in oven, fridge-freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and all the essentials for home cooking. One charming double bedroom upstairs, with natural wood floors, soft cotton bedding, feather & down pillows and duvet, and an open wardrobe with shelves. A spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower, a luxurious full-sized bath, wash basin, WC, fluffy towels, and a heated towel rail. The cottage is comfortably heated by radiators and the log burner, and is fitted with Satellite Wi-Fi, and TV. Please note: The original stone floors downstairs (some covered with rugs) add to the character, while the steep, narrow staircase reflects the cottage’s 200-year-old heritage. For this reason, it may not be suitable for young children or guests with limited mobility. Outside Space and Garden: The cottage enjoys its own private and secluded garden, offering guests a tranquil retreat with stunning views. A generous patio area is perfect for alfresco dining, while the private lawn gently rolls out towards open countryside framed by a distant, wooded, and almost theatrical backdrop. It’s a peaceful and inspiring spot to relax in nature. Ample private parking is also available directly beside the cottage. Guest access Guests enjoy full private access to the entire cottage. Self check-in is available, and exact directions and access details will be provided by the host prior to arrival. Other things to note Other things to note: The cottage is strictly non-smoking, including e-cigarettes and vapour devices. One small, well-behaved dog may be allowed by prior arrangement only, under the following conditions: no access to upstairs or furniture, and must never be left unattended in the property. All towels, linen, and basic household items are provided, with additional items available upon request. Due to the rural location, we ask all guests to confirm their identity prior to arrival – this helps us ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
