Welcome to our stylish & cozy Basalt barn on the Gelbachhöhen in the beautiful Westerwald! A special retreat in the middle of the Nassau Nature Park. Large kitchen, fireplace, piano, "Irish Pub", balcony and garden and nature right outside the door are waiting for you. Hiking trails, the nearby forest and attractive excursion destinations in the Westerwald invite you to explore. For couples or small groups of up to 4 people – peace, comfort and barn atmosphere included. The space In the attic of our barn, you will stay with a direct view of the countryside. From 2019 to 2025, we renovated and expanded our 1913 basalt barn with a lot of love for detail. The vacation apartment is new and equipped with everything you need for a relaxing vacation. There are: a large, fully equipped eat-in kitchen with a large refrigerator Stove with ceramic stovetop (4 burners) and dishwasher TV (as good as new, including streaming service from Waipu) Fiber optic internet connection Fireplace (wood included) for cozy hours Piano Balcony overlooking the garden and the sea of leaves on the trees SHARED garden with barbecue area and grill and a small "beer garden" 1 classic bedroom (king size) 1 sleeping loft (king size): accessible via a LADDER (loft ladder with handrail, as shown in the photos) Underfloor heating (winter) and underfloor cooling (summer) Electric shutters Fly screens in the bedroom and bathroom Washer Dryer Bed linens and towels included Charging facility for electric cars (for a fee) Storage for bicycles Optionally bookable: our "Irish Pub" in the former pigsty Parking in the yard Flexible check-in (key box) Music lovers can look forward to a high-quality Schimmel piano – an instrument ideal for inspiring evenings. The piano is tuned regularly for you, and on request (at an additional cost) also right before your stay. The apartment has a small balcony where the sun shines until noon. Our natural garden with a rabbit enclosure, green lawn, large trees and a barbecue area is available to us and our guests. There you could enjoy the sun until the evening or relax in the shade of the trees. In the cold months, the fireplace invites you to relax. Wood is included. Our guests also have the exclusive opportunity to rent our cozy "Irish Pub" in the evenings – a very special extra! Enjoy authentic flair by the crackling fireplace, with lovely details. Whether for a relaxing evening for two or a small, convivial gathering - a stylish addition to your stay. From Stahlhofen, you can easily reach many beautiful places: Take great walks and hikes around Stahlhofen, explore the Gelbachhöhen, the Gelbachtal and the entire Westerwald with its beautiful hiking trails, visit the Westerwald lake district, the Kannenbäckerland or explore the old towns of Montabaur, Hachenburg, Limburg and Diez with their half-timbered houses. The idyllic Lahn Valley and the Rhine Valley with castles and vineyards are also just around the corner. The Bad Ems thermal baths invite you to relax, and the FOC Montabaur factory outlet center invites you to shop. We are happy to give personal tips for worthwhile excursions! Looking forward to seeing you soon! Guest access You can park your car in our yard and access the apartment via garden stairs and an external staircase (steel). The path to the front door is well lit. We can hand over the keys in person or via a key box. Early check-in and late check-out are possible if the apartment is free. Just ask in person. Do you want to arrive by train? We will pick you up at the Montabaur ICE train station! Please let us know about this early enough.
