Relax outside and enjoy dinner under the covered porch while you watch the turkey and deer roam or roast marshmallows in the backyard firepit and listen to crickets sing. In the winter months, gas heat keeps the home comfortably warm while complementing its vintage farmhouse character. The rustic brick setting enhances the cozy country atmosphere guests love. You guessed it, there's even a Dollar General less than a mile away in case you forgot something. Dayton, Tennessee is a fisher’s haven and highly regarded as the bass fishing capital of the south. Chickamauga Lake hosts Fishing tournaments as anglers flock to Dayton, not only for the fishing opportunities but the atmosphere. Downtown Dayton is located only 5 miles away and has a charming square with shops, restaurants like Screen Door Cafe, brews at Monkey Town Brewing Company, and even has an interesting story to tell. Dayton was the site of the legendary Scopes Trial, the 1925 prosecution of a science teacher, John Scopes for teaching evolution in a Tennessee public school. Be sure to check out the museum in the original courthouse where the trial took place.
