Rio Embudo Farmhouse

Elegant farmhouse casita 1/2 mile from the center of Dixon NM. Located on 2.5 acre orchard with direct access to the Embudo River, walking trails and short distance to Dixon amenities. Enjoy privacy and solace in an enchanting mountain setting with all the comforts of home. The space Newly remodeled, free-standing home with full kitchen, bath and private outdoor space in a scenic New Mexico setting. The ground floor has a full kitchen, living space and bathroom. The kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, hot water kettle, and eating area. The living area has chairs and a high-quality memory foam, convertible sofabed. The bathroom has on-demand hot water and a clawfoot shower/tub. There are wood floors throughout the house. The bedroom is located upstairs with a queen-sized bed and convertible single bed/chair. There are large windows that look out on the cliffs and allow you to stargaze from bed in the clear New Mexico night skies. The house is well-lit and has large windows, but also features light-blocking curtains. The house is equipped with fast wi-fi. The outdoors features a fire pit and walking path. The walking path goes down to the Embudo river where there is direct river access on the property for wading, fishing, and a delightful stroll among the cottonwoods that is pleasant in any season. Guest access Guests have access to the farmhouse, parking, the lower field, walking path and the Bosque area by the Embudo River. We will share the fruit from our orchard if it's the right season! Other things to note The farmhouse is well equipped to meet the needs of most people. The steps to the upstairs may not be suitable for all mobility levels, and we have a baby gate available for those who plan to sleep with young children upstairs. The clawfoot tub requires a large step to enter; though a grab rail is provided. The house has a natural gas enamel stove as the main source of heat. In winter- we encourage you to drip the faucets if the temperatures drop below 20 degrees. We also have a short, but somewhat steep driveway. We do our best to manage snow and you shouldn’t need a 4wd car, however in the case of heavy snowfall there may be challenges. We’ll stay in communication if this happens and do our best to get timely plow services. Cell phone reception in Dixon may depend greatly on what carrier you have, some are have great reception, others not so much. This is a remodeled machine-shed; it is nicely finished but it is occasionally host to a mouse, beetle, or other small creature. We do our best to keep nature at bay; but we can't always ensure that you will not encounter any of them.
